Chapter 154
Melanie held her face in disbelief. “Did you just hit me?”

Heather sneered coldly. “Why wouldn’t I? You throw around the word ‘real sister‘ like it means something. Who said she’s her sister?
“Since you like that cursed woman so much, have your son marry her. You can donate your kidney to her. Why should my daughter be used as a favor?
“I’m saying this now. If anything happens to Willow, none of you is walking away.”
Timothy gently pulled her into his arms. “I’ve got you.”
Melanie still wouldn’t let it go. She turned to Julian. “Look at this. Is this the woman you want to win back? She’s humiliating
me.”
Nancy took the opportunity to chime in, “What kind of sister doesn’t save her own family? Julian, if you care about Alicia, you should-”
Julian’s expression was unnaturally calm. “Willow is part of the Chapman family. She has nothing to do with the Burke family. You’re all crossing the line.”
Charlie and Nancy froze. Wasn’t Julian supposed to care most about Alicia?
Heather stepped in front of Julian. Her voice was quiet but firm. “Julian, Alicia is your past, not Willow’s. Willow already gave you years of her youth. That’s enough.
“If your m’t let go of Alicia and if you can’t completely cut ties with her, then stop dragging Willow into this. My daughter does need to beg for love, and she sure as hell doesn’t need the Ziegler family’s money. This ends here. Let each other go.”
Julian looked pale.
For a moment, he really did think about walking away from Alicia for good. But if he could truly do that, why would he have stayed in Grandsburg for nine years?
He couldn’t watch Alicia wither and die. He was stuck with no way out.
After a long silence, Julian looked at Willow.
Willow lowered her eyes, smiling faintly. “Julian, don’t stress yourself out. I never planned to get back with you anyway. Let’s leave it at that.”
Then, she walked out with Timothy and Heather.
Charlie and Nancy, still focused on the kidney donation, tried to chase after them, but Julian stopped them with a quiet warning.
The next second, Julian flipped the entire table of fine dishes.
With a loud crash, broken glass and scattered food covered the floor. It was a wreck.
Everyone was stunned.
Charlie and Nancy stood there, humiliated.
Melanie trembled, her voice shaking. “Julian…”
Even Liam was frozen. He had never seen his son lose control in public. Julian had always been reserved, never this raw or defeated.
Under the dazzling lights, Julian looked completely wrecked. He turned to the people in the room.

“Mr. Burke, did you ever really see her as your daughter? You did even hesitate before asking her for a kidney. That’s a kidney, not some piece of clothing or jewelry. It’s a living organ in her body.
“And Mom, are you out of your mind? Willow and I were married for four years.”
Melanie realized she had made a huge mistake. Her lips moved, but no words came out.
Julian’s voice was soft. “I loved her.”
He said that and then walked out of the room, leaving Melanie behind, calling after him bitterly.
The night wind hit his face. It was as cold as ice.
Julian didn’t know where to go. For the first time in his life, he felt completely lost. He wandered the streets aimlessly. His phone rang over and over–it was Alicia calling. (1)
Eventually, he picked up.
“I’m sorry, Julian. I didn’t know my parents would do that. Did it make things harder for you? Don’t worry. I won’t let my sister donate a kidney to me.
“They went overboard. I’ll talk to them… Julian, can you come over? I’ll explain everything. I’m really worried about you.”
