Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 61

In the rosy princess room.

"Little Barbie, be a good girl. Mommy will apply your lipstick and make you look beautiful." Elaine stood on the bed, using pink pillows as stepping stones, attempting to give a makeover to a Snow-White doll that was over a meter tall. Despite being only half a head shorter than Elaine, the doll was her canvas for creating a beautiful mommy-daughter fantasy.

Arthur opened the door and entered quietly.

"Daddy." Elaine turned her head, spotting Arthur. A hint of nervousness and apprehension flickered in the clever little girl's eyes. However, she quickly broke into a smile, revealing two faint dimples on her round face, and rushed towards him with open arms.

Arthur couldn't help but have a gentle smile on his tense face, and he opened his arms to hug her.

"Daddy, I love you so much." Elaine hugged Arthur 's face and kissed him again and again, "I'm very obedient and sensible. Do you like Elaine?"

Arthur found himself caught in her antics, unsure whether to respond with laughter or exasperation.

Every time she made a mistake, this was her go-to strategy.

It couldn't be denied that her approach worked remarkably well. Each time, she managed to sidestep consequences, emboldening her further and escalating the audacity of her actions.

And each instance of her tormenting Hendrick seemed to bring forth an endless array of tricks.

This time, he had no plans to overlook her actions.

With Hendrick running away from home twice, the situation had become quite serious.

"Elaine, stay put. Daddy needs to talk to you," he directed, placing Elaine on the bed with a stern tone.

For some reason, even at a young age, she harboured a deep fear that her father might stop loving her or not want her anymore.

Her cautious and endearing demeanour consistently melted his heart.

He couldn't shake the feeling that his parenting might be falling short. With two children—one seemingly exhibiting signs of autism, isolating themselves in their own little world, avoiding interactions, and frequently running away from home—there was a persistent sense of unease that things were not quite right.

The other was assertive and perceptive.

He pondered over the fact that with his excellent genes, how could he end up with a child like this?

"Elaine, as long as you learn from your mistakes, Daddy will always love you. No matter what happens, you will forever be my wonderful daughter and sweet little angel. Daddy will never stop caring for you." He caressed her face, wiped away her tears, and spoke with tenderness.
