Christopher blinked his wide eyes. Just this morning, the ugly witch had treated him so harshly, and now... could it be that he misjudged her?
"Let's have dinner first." In that moment, Arthur took Hendrick from Sheryl's arms, embraced him, and spoke calmly.
Christopher lay on his daddy's shoulder, and all the servants emerged to greet him, calling out 'Young Master, Little Master' one after the other.
Sheryl followed, her demeanour incredibly gentle, showing more kindness than even Elaine.
Being just a child, Christopher felt a bit overwhelmed for a moment.
After dinner, Christopher took a bath and returned to his room.
Arthur opened the door and entered.
"Boy, why did you go to Gucci company?" he asked with a serious expression.
Today, he witnessed Sylvia interacting with Hendrick, and it seemed like they were familiar with each other. This raised his concerns, and he felt the need to investigate.
He feared that she might have secretly approached Hendrick as part of her revenge plan!
This was too risky!
Christopher's large eyes shifted as he spoke in his innocent tone, "Daddy, I was really upset after mommy scolded me today, but then I realized I was wrong and wanted to apologize to her. So, I went to Gucci company, where mommy works."
"Ah, I see." Arthur nodded, finding the explanation reasonable.
"What did that lady say to you? Do you know her?" He asked promptly.
Christopher blinked his innocent eyes, pretending not to understand, and inquired, "Which lady?"
Arthur was truly feeling a headache. His son kept leaving home, making him appear like a coward. Was there something wrong with his parenting?
His genes were outstanding, and his son's genes were only an improvement.
"I understand." Christopher pouted.
He couldn't bring himself to hit his beautiful and gentle mother. It was only that annoying ugly witch he wanted to deal with properly!
"Alright, go to sleep. It's getting late." Arthur checked his watch, placed Christopher on the bed, covered him with a quilt, turned off the light, and left the room.
In truth, this version of Hendrick, innocent and lively, was quite endearing. Despite being a bit mischievous, he was still adorable. These days, Hendrick was much better than before—enthusiastic, cheerful, and lively. It was a stark contrast to his cold and disinterested demeanour from before, and Arthur found himself much happier.
As he left, Arthur turned around and headed towards Elaine's bedroom.
