Leaving the Wrong Love Behind Forever novel Chapter 23

Maxwell found it absolutely absurd, feeling not the slightest bit happy.

What on earth was happening?

Unable to make sense of it, he quickly placated his mother: "Mom, I'll handle this. Give me some time."

His mother was still speaking when he hung up.

Maxwell immediately called Bella, his voice cold enough to freeze ice.

"Bella! What are you doing? I told you it was just a game punishment, not something serious. You can't possibly still think we're getting married!"

"Right now, immediately, delete everything you've posted about me. Delete it completely and apologize!"

Bella's heart tightened, but she persisted stubbornly, "Maxwell, I won't delete anything. Why can't we get our marriage certificate? We've already had our wedding. The whole world knows about our relationship. Your parents have given their consent. Let's get married!"

"I'll love you forever. Forget about Alison. Let's start fresh!"

"After we're married, we'll be so happy. We'll have an adorable baby and grow old together..."

As she described their future, Maxwell felt no anticipation whatsoever.

Such a future, he had only ever envisioned with Alison.

"Bella, it's impossible. If you won't delete them, then I will!"

With that, he hung up, frustration evident in his expression.

Immediately, Maxwell called his assistant.

"Remove all trending topics related to me. Delete everything Bella has posted. I don't want to see any topics about me trending again."

After temporarily handling the situation, he wasn't sure how to explain things to Alison.

After much deliberation, he sent a simple message: "Bella and I have no relationship. We are not getting married."

Maxwell's parents felt helpless, unsure how to proceed.

However, Maxwell's eyes were dark and unfathomable, his entire demeanor emanating danger and suppressed rage.

"You say you're carrying my child? Ha! I don't recall ever sleeping with you!"

"Immaculately conceiving a child—you're quite talented!"

He gripped Bella's neck tightly, while she looked at him with obsessive devotion despite the circumstances.

"Maxwell, don't treat me like this. I know I shouldn't have kept this baby. I promised you I'd get rid of it so Alison wouldn't find out."

"But Alison's married to my brother now, and I just felt sorry for the baby. Can't you find it in your heart to accept my child?"

She cried pitifully, tears streaming down her face.

None of those present were moved by her display.
