After introducing her family, Sapphira turned to the man who had accompanied Larissa. “Master Bryant, thank you so much for your help today.”

“Don’t mention it,” Bryant replied. “As Larissa’s mentor, it’s my duty to protect my student. If anything, I should be thanking you. I’ve heard all about what happened when Larissa came to Regal City. You and Mr. Judson aren’t her birth parents, yet you’ve treated her with such genuine love. You nearly got hurt because of it.”

Sapphira smiled. “You were her mentor, so you of all people should understand. Larissa may not be our biological daughter, but from the moment we met her, she became our daughter for life.”

“I’m relieved to know she has parents she can trust,” Bryant said with a sigh. He then looked at Larissa, his expression fond but reluctant. “Larissa, since things here are settled, I should be getting back. My old lady is waiting for me at home.”

Haskell also smiled gently at Larissa. “I should get back to the office as well.”

“Wait, Haskell,” Larissa said, taking his arm. “I’m taking Bryant home today and won’t be back until tomorrow, so let me treat you now.”

“Alright,” Haskell agreed.

Bryant waved his hand. “Larissa, you don’t need to escort me. Stay here and spend time with your grandparents…”

“Bryant, we live in Regal City,” Gloria interjected. “We can see Larissa whenever we want. But you live so far away, it’s not easy to visit. Please, let her take you home.”

Bryant finally relented. He did want to spend a little more time with Larissa.
