Haskell’s gaze softened as he looked at Larissa, his voice gentle but firm. “Please, don’t worry. I will be taking over the Palmer family very soon.”
“Good. We believe the position of Palmer heir will be yours again,” Gloria said with satisfaction. “And as Larissa’s fiancé, and future husband, you will undoubtedly do everything in your power to protect her.”
Gloria was thoroughly impressed with Haskell and had full confidence in his abilities. Before his accident, any family would have been thrilled to have their daughter marry him. He was exceptional in every way. And according to Sapphira, Larissa could even heal his legs. That was even better.
With Kiernan handing the Judson family to Larissa, and with the support of the Palmer heir, anyone who tried to harm her—be it the Lincolns or what was left of Paxton’s family—would be sealing their own doom.
Gloria then gestured to her five sons. “Larissa, these are your five uncles. As you take over the Judson family, if you ever need advice on business matters, you can always ask them. They may not be on Haskell’s level, but they’ve been around the block. Five heads are better than one.”
The five middle-aged men straightened their backs, making a silent vow to step up their game. They couldn’t afford to look foolish in front of their brilliant niece.
Larissa smiled at her uncles, amused by their suddenly serious expressions. “Thank you. I’m sure I’ll be needing your help.”
They all spoke at once.
“Not a problem! Call us anytime!”
“Actually, you should call me first. I’m the oldest, I have the most experience!” Stanley said, puffing out his chest.
His four brothers stared at him, aghast. A traitor in their midst!
