In the midst of the heated argument, he suddenly said something that struck her deeply. His words were like a sharp knife, cutting through her heart and leaving a deep wound.
She couldn't help but feel hurt and angry at his words. How could he say such things to her? Didn't he know how much they would hurt?
But as she thought about it more, she realized that his words were not meant to harm her. He was simply expressing his own feelings and frustrations in the heat of the moment.
Despite this realization, however, she couldn't shake off the pain caused by his words. They lingered in her mind long after their argument had ended.
It wasn't until later that she realized just how powerful his words had been. They had cut through all of her defenses and exposed vulnerabilities that she hadn't even known existed.
In a way, though painful at first, this experience helped her grow stronger and more resilient. She learned to be more mindful of what others say to her and how it affects her emotions.
And while their relationship may have been strained for a time after their argument, they eventually reconciled thanks in part to their newfound understanding of each other's communication styles.
Overall, she came out stronger from this experience, and learned an important lesson about communication: our words can have immense power over others, whether we intend them to or not.
Asking Zane in the car was just Yanis's way of finding an excuse or reason to ease her mind. She could tell that Zane wanted children, but thinking about her own situation made Yanis feel low and a sense of indescribable loss weighed heavily on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe. She sat there for a while before finally getting up and heading upstairs.
...
Deep in Dream.
Phoebe sat at the booth and glanced at the time - it had been twenty minutes since Zane hung up the phone with her. It shouldn't take more than twenty minutes to get from D-king Castle over here. Just as Phoebe was about to call Zane again, she looked up and saw him walking towards them from one side.
Putting down her phone, Phoebe waved at Zane as he approached. He walked over and took a seat next to her.
Phoebe had already had a few drinks by then; she looked flushed with obvious signs of being drunk. "Brother, over here!" she called out loudly so that Zane could hear.
Zane glanced at Phoebe before taking his seat beside hers. "Why are you here alone?" he asked.
Phoebe giggled drunkenly,"Enjoying life."
She raised her hand to signal for the waiter who brought over another glass of alcohol for Zane without asking him first."Brother, we haven't drank together yet! Let's have some tonight! If your wife scolds you later on I'll explain everything!"
Zane gave Phoebe a look before accepting the drink,"Didn't you say there was something important you wanted me to know?"
"Drink first! We can talk after!" said Phoebe forcefully as she shoved the drink into his hands."Don't worry; I'm not drunk yet so I'll explain everything clearly before I do."
After hesitating for several seconds, Zanepicked up his glassand clinked it against hersbefore drinking several sips. He put down his glassand said,"Speak now."
Phoebestaredat himfora few secondsbefore sighing deeply."If onlyI knew whatI know now, I wouldn't have targeted your wife back then."
WhenZanelistenedto this, heturnedto lookatPhoebewith concernand placedhis handonher foreheadto check if shewasdrunkor not."Are you sureyou'renotdrunk?"
"I'm sober!"said Phoebefirmly asshe removedhis handfromher forehead. Zanedidn'tsayanythingbut continued lookingatherin silence.
Phoebe moved closer to Zane and whispered, "Brother, Yanis is not a Thompson family child."
Zane's eyebrows furrowed when he heard Phoebe's words. "What do you mean?"
Phoebe explained, "Yanis has no relation to Mrs. Thompson, but she is related to Mr. Thompson. She and Antonio have the same father but different mothers, while she and Ivan have the same mother but different fathers."
Zane was stunned by Phoebe's revelation.
Phoebe chuckled at Zane's reaction. "I know it sounds unbelievable. I felt the same way when I first found out too."
"I'll call Albi over," Zane said.
Phoebe grabbed Zane's arm and pulled him back down into his seat again. "Brother, do you think Ivan will feel even worse if he finds out that the person he still loves is actually his own sister?"
After hearing what Phoebe said, Zane frowned slightly. "You didn't tell him?"
Phoebe shook her head no.
"Brother, why don't you talk to Ivan?" Phoebe suggested.
"No way," Zane refused firmly.
"But brother." Phoebe held onto Zane's arm again that night as she spoke softly with a pout on her lips."If someone keeps thinking about your sister all the time, would that make you feel good inside?"
"He is just a loser under my command," Zane replied coldly.
"But deep down inside your heart... you still care about it right? Even if he only keeps Yanis in his heart and doesn't act on it?"
Phobe hit a nerve with what she had said which made him uncomfortable for some reason. Zan met her gaze directly."Why don't YOU go talk to him then? You're more persuasive than me."
"You have more influence over him than I do!"
Phobe poured herself another glass of wine while speaking."It's not easy for anyone to let go of someone they love deeply. Ivan may have had an engagement with Mila before but deep down in his heart, Yanis has always been there. He couldn't marry Mila because he wanted Yanis instead. But now knowing that Yanis is actually his biological sister, it's going to be hard for him. I really like Ivan even though he doesn't like me back, but I don't want him finding out who he loves so much when everything falls apart. That might break him completely."
Zan sighed heavily after listening patiently."I'll consider talking with Ivan then."
