"Contact our operatives back in Zhinora. I want every shred of intel they have on Eagle. I want to know how the hell he survived, who raised him, and who gave him the sheer audacity to come after me!"
The convoy rolled out of the compound, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake.
Rizzo's right-hand man hurried over, helping him dust off his suit. "Boss," he whispered nervously, "what kind of history does Eagle have with Warrick? Warrick looked like he was genuinely terrified of him."
Rizzo shot him a warning glare. "Don't ask questions about Warrick's past if you want to keep your tongue."
The subordinate nodded quickly. "What about Eagle?"
Rizzo grit his teeth, malice twisting his features. "That bastard nearly cost me my life! Round up everyone who had any contact with him over the last few months. Beat the truth out of them."
"Like Warrick said. Kill a thousand innocents before you let one slide."
The enforcer nodded, taking a squad of mercenaries with him as he sped off.
Swearing under his breath, Rizzo stormed back toward the interrogation room. "You thought you could play me? I'm going to take my sweet time tearing you apart."
He shoved the door open and stepped inside, but before he could even register what was happening, the door slammed shut behind him.
The cold, razor-sharp edge of a combat knife pressed directly against his throat.
A chilling voice echoed in his ear. "Make a sound, and I'll open your jugular."
Rizzo froze. Before he could react, he felt the sharp prick of a needle sliding into the back of his neck.
His eyes widened in sheer panic, but with the blade resting against his skin, he didn't dare make a move. "What—what are you doing?! Who the hell are you?"
Disguised in full mercenary tactical gear, Tarquin Bradford calmly emptied the syringe into Rizzo's bloodstream before stepping back.
The moment Rizzo was free, he spun around, lunging for a counterattack.
Tarquin sidestepped with fluid grace, clamped a hand over Rizzo's mouth, and twisted his arm until the bone snapped with a sickening crunch.
