"Hello, Mr. Bradford. Hello, Ms. Thorne."
Jae-hyun Kim offered a warm smile, taking the initiative to greet them with the perfect image of a gentle, harmless man.
Elysia frowned!
Because her repulsion ran bone-deep, she couldn't even force herself to put on a polite front for him.
The word 'disgust' was practically written across her face.
Tarquin understood her perfectly. He looked at her and said,
"Why don't you ladies go look around? Mr. Kim and I will find a place to sit. Call me if you need anything."
Elysia, desperate to get away from Jae-hyun, nodded immediately. "Alright."
Naturally, Diane didn't object either. She took Jae-hyun's shopping bags from his hands, stood on her tiptoes, and pressed a kiss to his cheek.
"Have a nice chat with Tarquin. Elysia and I are going to browse. See you in a bit."
Jae-hyun nodded with a look of pure adoration. "Okay."
He watched them walk away. Though it looked like his eyes were fixed on Diane, his true focus was zeroed in on Elysia.
Only when their silhouettes vanished from sight did he turn back to Tarquin.
"There's a coffee shop downstairs. Shall we go have a seat? I actually have something I've been wanting to discuss with you."
Tarquin had no objections, and the two men headed downstairs together.
Inside the café, Jae-hyun ordered two coffees in perfectly fluent Koryon.
His accent sounded completely native.
Then, he looked at Tarquin, switching effortlessly to English.
"You both seem to dislike me quite a bit, especially Ms. Thorne. Do you mind telling me why?"
Tarquin met his gaze with a cold counter-question. "Don't you already know?"
Jae-hyun fell silent for a moment before speaking. "Is it because of Zane Livingston?"
Tarquin hadn't expected him to bring up Zane so directly. His eyes narrowed.
Jae-hyun's expression remained perfectly calm.
