Elysia immediately frowned.
"Why didn't you just turn her down? I really don't want to be around them."
She felt an intense, visceral repulsion toward Jae-hyun. Just thinking about him made her deeply uneasy and vaguely nauseous. She was genuinely disgusted by the man.
She didn't even fully understand why.
All she knew was that he made her skin crawl, and she had no desire to be in his presence.
Tarquin said, "I want to use this chance to dig into Jae-hyun's background."
Elysia looked surprised. "By going to his house?"
"Yeah."
Elysia didn't press for details on how he planned to do it. She murmured,
"I suppose we should look into him. Neither Winona nor I have really interacted with him, yet we both despise him. There has to be a reason, right?"
"Alright, let's go tomorrow. Did you set a specific time?"
Tarquin shook his head. "Not yet. You arrange it with Diane."
"Okay!"
Elysia reached out to Diane, and the two agreed to meet at the Kim estate tomorrow at noon.
Once the plans were set, she went to the study to check on Emmett. Lately, the little boy had poured his heart and soul into his final competition piece.
He was working incredibly hard.
...
The next morning, the first thing Elysia saw when she woke up was a text from Diane.
[Elysia, I bought breakfast for you guys and left it at the hotel front desk. Whenever you're awake, just call down and have them bring it up.]
[It's all authentic Koryon cuisine, way better than the hotel food. Give it a try!]
