Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem novel Chapter 1820

The moment Axel saw him, his breathing hitched, his chest heaving with exertion.

He locked eyes with Warrick, a predatory, murderous fury blazing in his gaze—the look of a man staring down a lifelong nemesis.

Warrick didn't even flinch. If anything, his tone was deceptively gentle. "Do you want to live?"

Rizzo balked, clearly stunned.

Axel just glared at him, refusing to speak.

Warrick continued, "You're young. It would be a shame to die here. Tell me who your accomplices are, and I'll let you walk."

Axel's brow twitched. Rizzo interjected, "He has accomplices?"

Warrick shot Rizzo a withering look. "You really think he pulled off a mass extraction of all those kids by himself? Even if he broke them out, how would one man transport them? You absolute idiot."

Withering under Warrick's icy stare, Rizzo swallowed hard. "You're right. I wasn't thinking."

Warrick rolled his eyes in disgust and turned back to Axel. "I'm willing to drop the hunt for the children. I'll even guarantee your safety. All I want are the names of your accomplices."

Warrick was a calculating man. Losing a shipment of kids was a financial hit, but hardly a catastrophic one.

They could always source more. There was no shortage of vulnerable targets in the world.

However, having highly trained operatives embedded in his inner circle was a fatal security breach.

Until he rooted out every last rat, he wouldn't sleep a wink.

Finding those operatives was the only reason he was here today.

Axel let out a raspy, blood-choked laugh. "You want to know? I'll take their names to my grave."

Warrick's brow furrowed. Axel sneered, "Cole Law. Karma is coming for you. The universe doesn't let filth like you walk away clean. If I can't kill you, someone else will."

"You're going to die screaming, and I'll be waiting in hell to watch it happen."

Cole Law?!
