HIS REGRET (Ex-Husband wants Me Back) novel Chapter 686

Chapter 686

Several minutes later, Falcon raised a hand.

Everything stopped.

Andrew collapsed face-first onto the floor, his body trembling from pain.

“Why are you still holding on?” Falcon asked.

Andrew spat blood across the marble, then looked up at him through swollen eyes. “Because… there are people worth protecting.”

For a brief second, something darkened in Falcon’s gaze.

“Take him downstairs. Treat him enough to keep him alive. Don’t let him die yet.”

Andrew was dragged out, leaving a thin trail of blood across the white marble.

Falcon returned to his seat. His fingers tapped lightly against the desk.

“The Miller family,” he murmured. “A grand name, yet only fragments of their trail can be found.”

“We’re continuing the investigation, sir,” the man in the gray suit said quickly. “Public records on Cale Miller are extremely limited. His company operates through multiple layers of investment structures and private management.”

“That means he was raised not to be touched easily.”

The staff member lowered his head. “Shall we continue digging?”

Falcon stared at his phone screen for a few seconds.

“There is one person who may know how far I should go.”

“Who, sir?”

“Brandon.”

The video call connected a moment later.

The large screen on the wall lit up with Brandon lounging casually on the balcony of a luxury hotel in Hong Kong. Midday sunlight spilled across the small table before him, a cup of coffee in his hand as though he were simply enjoying a holiday.

“Awfully early for this,” Brandon said lightly. “Did you miss me?”

“I never miss you.”

“Good. That keeps our relationship healthy.”

Falcon had no interest in playing along. “Who is Cale Miller?”

Brandon raised an eyebrow. “Interesting name coming from your mouth.”

“You met him.”

“I meet many important people.”

“Don’t waste my time.”

Brandon took an unhurried sip of coffee. “The problem is, I happen to enjoy watching your time get

wasted.”

Falcon’s gaze sharpened on his younger brother. If Brandon had been standing in front of him, Falcon would already have taught him a lesson with a fist.

“I’ll ask one more time,” Falcon said coldly. “Who is he?”

Brandon set his cup down. The faint smile remained, but his eyes turned hard.

“My advice? Don’t involve yourself with Cale Miller if you have any interest in avoiding trouble.”

“That is not an answer.”

“It’s the best one you’re going to get.”

He held Falcon’s stare through the screen.

Falcon leaned back in his chair. “Are you defending him?”

“I’m saving you from one of your worst habits.”

“And what habit is that?”

“Believing everything can be taken simply because you want it.” Brandon’s smirk turned openly

contemptuous.

The room grew colder.

Falcon’s voice dropped low. “Is he bigger than me?”

Brandon let out a short laugh. “Another small question from a man who thinks he’s big.”

“Just answer me, damn it!” Falcon snapped.

Brandon looked straight into the camera.

“I’ll only say this once, so listen carefully. If I were you, I would stop before it’s too late.”

The call ended on Brandon’s side.

No one dared speak for several seconds afterward.

Falcon stared at the dark screen for a long moment, then smiled slowly. It was not the smile of a pleased
