But Josh did not stop.
He dribbled the ball to the right side, then suddenly changed direction. One of the Raven players almost lost his balance when Josh passed him. The second player immediately moved forward to close the space, but Josh instead passed the ball to his teammate, who had already moved toward the left side.
“Good!” Chris shouted.
The Miller player received the pass and immediately took the shot.
It went in.
The cheers from the Miller side erupted again.
“YES!”
Eli jumped slightly. “Good!”
Chris laughed at Eli’s expression. “It’s only been a few minutes, and you’re already like this.”
“I’m supporting them.”
“Not just supporting them,” Grace replied with a laugh. “You look like part of the team.”
Eli did not have time to respond because the game continued.
Raven began increasing the pressure. They did not give Miller many opportunities to organize their offense. Every time Josh received the ball, at least one player immediately moved closer to block him. However, Josh looked like he already understood the opponent’s playing pattern.
He did not force himself. Several times, Josh managed to create opportunities for other Miller players. He also continued giving instructions to his teammates.
“Cover the left side!”
“Don’t move up too far!”
“Good! Repeat that pattern!”
Josh’s voice could be heard clearly amid the roar of the crowd.
“Look at Josh,” Chris said while watching the court. “He’s not rushing. He’s reading Raven’s defense.”
Eli nodded. “Yeah, he looks like he’s really enjoying this game.”
“And that’s what makes him dangerous.”
A few seconds later, Josh got the ball again.
This time, he moved from the left side. A Raven player blocked his path. Josh stopped for a moment, spun his body, then passed his opponent with a quick move.
“Josh!”
Eli immediately sat up straighter.
Josh continued running toward the basket.
One Raven player chased him from behind, while another was already standing beneath the basket. Josh jumped as if he were about to make a layup, but at the last second, he passed the ball to his teammate, who was standing open on the right side.
A three-point shot and... it went in.
