Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 738

"Grandma!" Caleb screamed, but all he heard in response was Marie's startled exclamations fading into the distance.

Marshmallow dashed out of the study, clutching Marie in its mouth, and then nimbly jumped onto the nearby windowsill.

Suspended in the air, Marie could only see her body hovering high above and Marshmallow's quick-moving paws.

As it leaped, Marie's sight jolted like a shaky camera. When she finally regained her bearings, she realized her feet dangled precariously over what seemed like an endless drop.

Though it was merely the windowsill of the second floor, from her doll's perspective, it felt like standing on the edge of a towering cliff.

Marie was so frightened that her soul almost left her body—not that it hadn't. "What are you trying to do to me? Take me back! Shannon! Get over here and tame your fox!"

She suspected Marshmallow planned to throw her out the window.

Previously, Cecily mentioned that any harm done to the doll while a soul resided within it would also affect the soul itself.

If Marie were to fall from this height, she would definitely be paralyzed. She could still feel her legs in the wheelchair previously, but that might not be the case anymore once she got flung out of this window…

Amid her swirling thoughts, she felt her body suspended in mid-air again… More accurately, she was soaring through the air.

"Ahh!" Marie screamed on top of her non-existent lungs, frightened to her core. Soon, she realized she wasn't being flung out; rather, Marshmallow had clutched her in its mouth and leaped onto a tree next to the window.

Following that, she experienced the thrill of a rapid descent as it leaped down the tree with her in its mouth. "Stop… hopping… around…"

Marie's voice was barely a whisper, and Marshmallow naturally couldn't hear her.

By the time she was finally set to the ground, she felt as though her soul was on the verge of unraveling.

As Marie tried to steady herself, she suddenly heard a familiar female voice. "I only asked you to pick up the doll. What took you so long?"

It was Shannon.

Hearing her voice was equivalent to seeing her savior. As Marie followed the source of the sound and lifted her head, she froze in place.

From a doll's perspective, Shannon undoubtedly appeared towering. Having been in the doll for so many days, Marie had started to adapt to the overwhelming sight of everything appearing larger around her.

However, what stunned her wasn't Shannon's towering figure but the two enormous ghostly shadows floating behind her—one big and one small.
