Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 736

"Since Shannon's first return, neither of you showed concern toward her. Especially you, Cal. I still can't believe you hired trolls to smear her. That was pretty messed up."

Scott poked at Caleb's doll head, his face full of justice.

Having been jabbed in the head, Caleb complained, "Are you planning to hold on to this matter till the end of time? Just because I hired trolls to pester her doesn't mean I deserve to die and become a doll forever!"

"I'm not saying you deserve it, but think about it—why did you always have to go against her? She's never done anything to you, has she?"

Caleb thought, "Well… You're right. It was Cecily's fault."

"All you two ever did was defend Cecily no matter what she did. It's not like Shannon didn't warn you about her. You guys simply chose not to believe her… and me and Hector. Had you not kept her dolls, she wouldn't even have a chance to trap you guys inside them."

Marie and Caleb were rendered speechless. Although it was the truth, it was still quite embarrassing to have their mistakes pointed out so bluntly.

Scott continued chattering. "What's so good about Cecily, anyway? She's not even a part of the Jensens. Look what she's done to you after everything you did for her.

"Of course, I admit I was once rude to Shannon because of Cecily, but I realized my mistake early, didn't I? I was eager and sincere in changing. Look at how Shannon accepted me with open arms despite disliking me back then.

"Oh, right. She even gave me a second shielding talisman, just because she was worried I'd get hurt."

He tugged at the emerald pendant on his neck and showed it to the dolls. Aside from the pendant, he fished out a few more different talismans from his pocket.

At that point, Marie and Caleb were startled. Would this kid ever stop showing off?

"What I mean to say is that Shannon is not a petty person. For someone of her caliber, she's probably thinking about significant matters like subduing evil and saving the world. The only reason she cares so much about this incident is because we're her family."

Scott sighed and lamented, "Shannon really gave her everything this time. You guys probably aren't aware because you didn't see it, but she almost got struck by that huge bolt of fire lightning.

After all, this wasn't the first or second time he had suffered the consequences of his foolishness. It was even more ironic that Caleb often compared his intelligence to Hector's.

To that, he could only say, "Ignorance is bliss."

As much as Scott found Caleb too dumb to his liking, he couldn't stand by and do nothing. Otherwise, if Shannon came to despise Caleb one day, he might be affected in the process…

With that, Scott yapped at the dolls for about an hour straight. By the time Marie and Caleb had heard enough of his voice, they relentlessly expressed, "We got it," multiple times, albeit knowing they wouldn't be heard.

In summary of his hour-long speech, Shannon was now recovering; she would be shielded from all criticism, even if she chose not to help Marie and Caleb.

Indeed, they had been convinced their assumptions earlier were right.
