Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 32

Back at the Jensen residence, Janice had brought up the dinner banquet planned for tomorrow after the Shaws had left.

The banquet had been prepared specifically to introduce Shannon to the people in their circle. Now that she was gone, it remained to be seen whether the banquet would go on.

Everyone turned to look at George, wanting him to make the decision. He simply narrowed his eyes before saying, "The dinner banquet will proceed as planned."

Turning to Scott and the other young ones, he continued, "You boys will head over to her house and convince her to return. If she doesn't, you boys don't need to come back either."

Scott and the others widened their eyes in shock. They couldn't believe those words had just come out of George's mouth. Was a granddaughter he had only met a few times more important than three of his grandsons?

It was one thing for Scott to apologize to Shannon. Hank was around Shannon's age, and Caleb was older than her. They would both be humiliated if they had to apologize to her.

Even now, none of them thought they did anything wrong. They were a family. She was the one making a mountain out of a molehill by choosing to leave the house just because they had a fight.

But of course, no one dared to voice what they truly thought. They were just about to speak when they heard Adam say, "I'll go with them to meet Shannon tomorrow."

Adam still recalled the look in Shannon's eyes when she said she wanted to move out. Hector had also reminded him that the room was the one he and his wife prepared for her—but he wanted her, its owner, who had returned at last, to give it away.

Shannon must have been sorely disappointed in him.

All these years, he poured all of his focus into his work. Plus, Hector had always been brilliant and mature, even as a child. Adam never had to worry about Hector, so when Shannon came home, he didn't make any kind of special arrangements or pay her any particular attention either.

It was only after the reminder from Hector that Adam realized he had no clue how to raise a child. This time, he needed to make amends properly.

Shannon eyed Adam and her three cousins behind him with a mix of emotions. Pursing her lips, she silently stepped aside.

"Come in," she said.

Her living room was fairly small. After all four of them came in, it felt as though they had filled the space to the brim. Scott and the other younger guys felt even more uncomfortable now.

Shannon was living in a medium-cost residential area. Most of the people renting here were either young office workers or fresh graduates. Although the environment wasn't terrible, it certainly wasn't pleasant.

It was already plain and unremarkable to a normal person, let alone to wealthy scions like Scott and the others who were used to the finer things in life. To them, this house was a dump. The living room wasn't even as big as their bedroom.

Why would Shannon be staying in this kind of apartment?
