Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2043

Shannon raised a brow. Yet before she could say anything, Kai had expressed his unsolicited opinion on Trevaris' name.

"What? Travis? What kind of fratboy name is that? It doesn't match a phoenix's aura at all!"

Unlike the name Kai Beck, which symbolized the sea and aligned perfectly with his water dragon nature… Way to give yourself an awful name, kid.

The boy was displeased and quickly corrected him, "Not Travis, but Trevaris! 'Tre', as in three!"

Kai remained unimpressed. It wasn't like Trevaris sounded any better than Travis.

The boy's face turned red with embarrassment from his teasing, and just as he was about to say more, Shannon raised a hand and smacked him on the head, her gaze sharp with warning.

Kai swiftly became obedient.

With Trevaris' name officially registered, Shannon and Kai left the Demon Control Agency with the boy in tow.

Instead of heading straight back to the Demon District, they made a stop at an office building in Jamborough.

Since Trevaris and the power of phoenix Shannon inherited seemed to come from the same source, there was a chance that someone out there might hold the answers they were looking for.

When the trio arrived at the reception, Shannon wasted no time stating her purpose. "My name is Shannon Jensen. I'm here to see Mr. Dreadmoor. Is he in?"

The receptionist instantly lit up when she heard Shannon's name. Her supernatural energy, belonging to a rabbit demon, spilled as she nodded eagerly.

"Yes, he's in! I'll take you straight to Mr. Dreadmoor now!"

If Shannon had once only been known within the Zaprath School and the Demon Control Agency, then all that changed after the mystical tournament two years ago.

There, she appeared as a seven-tailed fox and effortlessly defeated one of the Ghost Mist elders within her mind domain, causing her name to spread like wildfire throughout the demon world.

The young rabbit demon leading them clearly idolized her, chattering excitedly the entire way before stopping at the innermost office.

Without hesitation, she pushed the door open and called out cheerfully, "Mr. Dreadmoor, Ms. Jensen is here to see you!"

Inside the spacious, luxuriously furnished office, a man seated in a leather chair turned around in a bit of a fluster. He was tall and broad-shouldered, practically bursting out of his tailored suit.

"I mean, sure, when you were broke, it was whatever. But now that you've got money, this is how you choose to dress? Come on. If you're really that lost, just copy my style already."

Rhodes, unbothered as always by Kai's chronic sass, simply tossed the blame elsewhere like a hot potato.

"It's Caleb's fault! He insisted this is how successful people dress. I told him no, but he kept pushing. When he gets back, I'm kicking his ass!"

Meanwhile, back on the production floor, Caleb was diligently inspecting the assembly line when he sneezed.

"I bet that rodent is talking behind my back again," he thought.

It had been two whole years, and Hector still wouldn't release him from this monster-run company. He used to be the well-fed, pampered son of the Jensen family.

Now? He had been working like a donkey for nearly three years, and his boss, a brawny, supernatural brute, still swung first and never asked questions.

At this rate, would he ever see the end of his tragic arc?
