Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2000

Shannon stood at the edge of the crowd, her expression unreadable as she subtly retracted her hand after casting three spirit-seeing talismans.

Noticing the small gesture, Benjamin maintained his cool. He casually took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

The two of them stood on the periphery of the crowd, appearing to be mere bystanders. The Glovers, on the other hand, were nearly paralyzed by fear.

Who would've thought that they would encounter ghosts in broad daylight? When they first arrived, the shop was perfectly normal!

Barnaby stared at the man beside Mariam, his face pale with terror. His mouth quivered, nearly too scared to speak.

Mariam, visibly confused yet still stubborn, shouted defiantly, "I have security cameras in my shop, so don't think you can cause trouble here!

"Whether you're trying to reconcile or scheme against my business, it's not going to happen! So, get the hell out of here!"

Barnaby wanted to say something, but before he could open his mouth, Levi, standing next to Mariam, spoke, his words as cold as the ice shards of winter.

"Leave, or you'll die."

As if to emphasize his words, the figure perched on Willie's back, Morton, slowly raised a hand, making a motion as if to strangle Willie's neck.

Willie, already terrified out of his wits, felt the cold grip on his throat and couldn't hold back any longer. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed unconscious.

Seemingly losing interest in him, Morton turned his chilling gaze toward Barnaby instead. His eyes gleamed with malice.

"He's no fun. Now, it's your turn to entertain me."

With those words, he began floating toward Barnaby and his mother by the door.

Seeing the eerie scene unfold before him, Barnaby couldn't hold it together anymore.

Her pupils widened in disbelief, and as she recognized the figure before her, her eyes immediately welled with tears. There was no fear, only an overwhelming sense of longing and hurt.

"Levi…"

Though she had always believed that his soul was somewhere close, she had never truly seen him until now. She had convinced herself with this idea, more to comfort herself than out of any real belief.

Mariam's usual resilience, which she had kept up before the Glovers, finally gave way as the dam broke. "Levi!"

She tried to rush toward him to embrace him, but instead, her body collided with something that felt like smoke. She passed right through him, feeling the ethereal coldness of his presence.

As she stumbled through him, she watched in heartbreak as Levi's ghostly figure scattered like mist before slowly reforming—an undeniable reminder that he had truly been gone… for years.

Tears streamed down her face as she wept inconsolably, grieving for her brother who no longer belonged to the world of the living.
