Only now did Henry Juhl understand Stephanie's true purpose in coming here.
"Shameless little b*tch! Is marrying Zayn not enough? Is it not enough that you put our family in such a bad situation? You even complained to Shaun? I'll beat you to death!"
Lindsey coldly watched as Stephanie threw her tantrum and only when she saw her hands reaching out did she make a move.
She moved her body slightly to avoid her. Stephanie used too much force and did not retract in time, so she stumbled forward before finally standing firm.
"B*tch! You still want to avoid me?" Stephanie was about to lunge at Lindsey again, but she did not dodge this time. She used Stephanie's strength to bounce her back into Henry's arms.
"Get lost."
After pushing them away, Lindsey flung her arms and turned around to leave. Stephanie still wanted to chase her from behind, but Henry pulled her back.
"Are you done with your nonsense? You've already made such a mess! What more do you want?"
Lindsey did not listen carefully to what Stephanie said. She could only hear that Stephanie seemed to be crying, but what did this have to do with her?
The morning breeze was a little chilly. Lindsey hugged her arms and walked forward quickly. In the end, she ran.
She looked so disheveled that it attracted the attention of countless passersby.
Luckily, Lindsey had not completely lost her mind. She found a hotel and asked the concierge to buy her an outfit. She changed out of her dirty clothes and cleaned herself up, then went to the office.
The only person she could rely on was herself.
Lindsey realized this so profoundly for the first time.
Thus, work was important.
Lindsey stayed at the hotel for the entire week, during which she went to and from work every day as usual. No one could see anything unusual about her.
Stephanie and Henry were surprisingly quiet and the gossip about her in the office gradually diminished.
Lindsey was looking around for places to stay after work these days, but she could not find a suitable one.
She could not go back to the Guggenheim mansion and she could not possibly stay in a hotel forever.
After work, Ginny Young was eating a lollipop as she walked over to Lindsey, seeing her work overtime yet again.
Lindsey could feel Ginny’s gaze and lifted her head to see her. “What are you doing?”
Surprisingly, Ginny asked her back, "What are you doing? You’ve been working non-stop these days. Even robots don’t work as hard as you do!"
"Really?" Lindsey did not even notice it herself.
"Yes. So, what's wrong with you?"
"Nothing." Lindsey said subconsciously, but a moment later, she said, "Ginny, do you know if there’s any cheap room for rent that’s close to our office?"
"You want to rent a room?" Ginny's eyes widened and said, "Why do you suddenly want to rent a place?" Ginny did not know what happened.
Lindsey scratched her head and said, "Oh, something just came up home. So do you know a place or not?"
Ginny had never rented a place before, so how would she know? She scratched her head and suddenly had a thought.
"I do know of a place."
Lindsey's eyes lit up and asked, "Where?"
"My place!" Ginny spat out these words and gestured with her fingers as she said, "It’s close to the company, has a good environment, and it’s cheap!"
Lindsey rolled her eyes. Ginny saw this and shook Lindsey’s shoulder. She said, "I'm serious! My parents bought me this apartment and I live alone. Why don’t you just move in with me? I'm so bored alone..." Ginny hugged Lindsey's shoulders and whined.
