Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 75

"Hmph! She must have known that Mr. Juhl was in a bad mood that day, that's why she asked me to take the lead." The person who spoke was Fenly.

"Right? The Director is just biased. I don't think there was anything wrong with what you did last time, so why were you reprimanded?" This voice was a bit unfamiliar. It was probably someone from another department.

"How would I know?" Fenly retorted and said indignantly, "That nasty old man! How dare he yell at me? If it wasn’t for next month’s promotion, I wouldn’t even give him the time of day!"

Lindsey looked at the Director beside her and silently took a step back while the two people at the stairwell were getting more reckless, saying increasingly unpleasant things.

In fact, Lindsey had always wondered why someone as heedless as Fenly could stay in the company for so long. She had a foul mouth that was unlikable and she was so petty and jealous. She was a complete mess, but she was still able to stay put in Hemera for so long. Lindsey thought that it was simply a miracle.

"Ahem." The Director finally could not listen to any more of their gossip and cleared his throat.

The sound inside the stairwell came to an abrupt halt.

Looking at the Director's gloomy face, Lindsey quickly went back to her desk so as not to get herself into unnecessary trouble.

What Lindsey did not expect was that two days later, Fenly was dismissed without a valid reason.

Instantly, Fenly became the laughing stock of the whole office.

Fenly returned to her desk to pack up her things and no one came up to her to comfort her. Even the people who were usually close to her also avoided her.

When she saw Lindsey, who was sitting next to her, Fenly became even more resentful. She glared at Lindsey fiercely and wanted to eat her alive.

"B*tch!"

Lindsey ignored her. A clown like Fenly was not even worth wasting her time on. She stood up and walked past Fenly to grab a cup of coffee.

Fenly blocked her path and the coffee mug in Lindsey’s hand fell to the ground as Fenly slapped it away.

Only then did Lindsey raise her head to look at Fenly.

Fenly's eyes were a little red, but Lindsey did feel an ounce of sympathy for her.

"Do you know why I’m not bothered with you?"

Looking at Fenly's gritted teeth, Lindsey snickered and continued, "That’s because it's not fun to beat up someone who’s already fallen."

Fenly was so arrogant in front of her back then, but now she was a nobody.

"It's you, right?" Fenly suddenly threw the box she was holding to the floor and grabbed Lindsey’s sleeve, "This is your ploy, isn't it? I knew it was you! B*tch, you stabbed me in the back! Otherwise, why would the Director go there and how could I be fired?!"

Lindsey pulled her hand away and said, "I don't know what you’re talking about."

However, Fenly went crazy and grabbed Lindsey, not wanting to let go. "I knew it was you! You were the one who lured the Director there. That's why the Director heard what I said and held a grudge against me. That’s why I got fired!"

Lindsey hooked her lips and smiled. She moved closer to Fenly's ear and said, "So what if it is? I brought the Director over. Not only that, the report you made was problematic, but I didn't tell you, so you were scolded. Are you happy now that you know this?"

"You evil b*tch!" Fenly went mad and shouted at Lindsey, wanting to tear her apart.

Their colleagues from the Consulting Department came up and forcefully broke up their fight.

"You did this to me! B*tch! You evil b*tch!"

Fenly was still shouting, but Lindsey ignored her and picked up the broken pieces of her mug from the floor.

There was a bitter smile on the corner or her mouth. Perhaps after this, others would spread another gossip about her and say that she was wicked.

However, Lindsey did not care. At that time, she just wanted to do well at work, but these people bullied her at every turn, so she might as well be seen by them as the “evil b*tch”. At least then, no one would dare to target her anymore.

How wonderful.
