Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 691

Half a year later in Denarius.

"Ms. Juhl, here are the financial statements for the last quarter."

"Ms. Juhl, Mr. Zheng from Tencello wants to meet you to discuss Denarius' investment in Salem City’s real estate early January next year."

"Ms. Juhl, our financial supply chain has begun to stabilize with the cooperation of Moeller Corporation. You have a conference call with our German branch at 10:00 am."

While Lindsey was walking, her assistant and several employees constantly reported to her about her itinerary that day.

Her nude patent leather high heels made a crisp sound as she stepped on the marble floor, and her fitted suit outlined her figure, which was slim but not underweight.

Lindsey’s once waist-length black hair was cut to shoulder length. In the sunlight, her hair had a light sheen to it. Her large curls added volume to her hair and outlined her cheeks, which made her look more feminine and sexy.

Her makeup was simple with nicely drawn eyeliner and bright red lips, which complemented her look. She also did not wear many accessories.

When Lindsey walked by, the faint smell of perfume lingered in the air.

"Chanel's latest suit, Gianvito Rossi’s classic high heels, LV bag..." The employee who spoke nudged her colleague beside her looking interested. "Hey, guess what brand is Ms. Juhl’s necklace?"

The colleague who was pulled into this blinked, then stretched out his hand and pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose. He asked slowly, "Did you do the tender for the land in the city center that Ms. Juhl asked you to redo yesterday?"

He thought that this would make her shut up, but she just smiled and lifted the documents on her desk. Her eyebrows were raised as she said, "Already done!"

The man shook his head and continued with his work, but the woman had already finished her task and began to chatter. "Sigh...I really wanna know what color lipstick Ms. Juhl used. How does she look so good in every one of them? And the perfume she uses...oooooh, just kill me...why is there such an attractive woman in this world?"

"Wake up!" The male colleague could not resist knocking on her head. "This unrequited love of yours is destined to fail, so just give up."

The female colleague immediately looked fierce and was ready to stretch out her arms to choke the man, but before she could do anything that she imagined, someone’s curved middle finger tapped on her desk twice.

The man's deep voice sounded, "Jane, where’s the proposal that Ms. Juhl asked you to do yesterday?"

The female colleague immediately sat upright and slowly put down her hands. "Mr. Quentin, it's here, I've already done it." As she said that, she hurriedly took the documents on the desk that she had just flung aside, then handed them to Quentin with both hands.

Quentin had no expression on his face and only nodded slightly as a response, then took the documents she presented to him and flipped through them casually.

Jane stood there apprehensively and heard Quentin say, “Watch what you say at work.”

After saying that, he walked away in large strides.

Once Quentin was out of sight, Jane let out a long breath.

"Mr. Quentin’s so scary. It feels like he’s possessed by Mr. Guggenheim."

After she said that, she abruptly covered her mouth and looked around, but no one was paying attention to her because she did not speak too loudly. Only then did she put her mind to ease.

Since she was caught by Quentin gossiping with her colleague, she did not dare to be reckless and simply lowered her head to do her work.

Previously, Quentin was desired by many unmarried single women in the company, but now, Quentin was a killjoy.

After she put it down and prepared to leave, Quentin unintentionally glimpsed at the coffee on the desk out of the corner of his eye and paused for a moment.

"Bread? For me?" He looked at the beautifully wrapped paper box and pushed up his glasses before raising his head to look at the girl who had already walked to the door.

Emilia blinked and said, "Yeah, you shouldn’t always still drink coffee on an empty stomach." ‘With no sugar too,’ she added silently in her mind.

Quentin froze for a few seconds, then the corners of his lips hooked up in a small arc. "Thank you."

Emilia looked at his smile, which was so different from before. Her heart inexplicably felt a little bitter. She held the door handle and was ready to leave.

"By the way, have you eaten?" Quentin thought of something, so he looked up again and asked.

The force on her hand reduced slightly. Emilia nodded seriously and smiled slightly to reveal her two small dimples. "Yup."

After Emilia left, Quentin looked at the small box next to the coffee and surprisingly gained some appetite just by looking at the packaging.

Quentin was often the earliest to arrive at the office and the latest to leave. Usually, he would be too busy to eat breakfast and he did not expect this girl to notice.

He opened the box and grabbed the soft bread. A few minutes later, the discomfort in his stomach faded away.

Quentin threw the packaging in the trash, then took a sip of coffee and began to concentrate on the documents in front of him.

As the two people who held the most shares in the company, Lindsey and Quentin were the first and second command in Denarius even though Quentin was still Lindsey's personal assistant by name.
