Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 66

Lindsey Juhl was amazed at the speed at which such people changed their attitude, but this was good news for her. After finalizing the time with Jake Zanders, she left with her bag in hand.

Jake looked at Lindsey's departing back and wiped his cold sweat. He thought he had done a good job earlier taking the Chairman's hint.

He never would have expected that Lindsey was the wife of Denarius’ President. She still came out to work and meet clients even though she had such a huge backer as Zayn Guggenheim. Ordinary people could never understand the hobbies of the rich.

Lindsey knew that Zayn was of great help in closing a big client like Schanely Corporation, but she tried to suppress her curiosity. She did not ask him why he wanted to help her and why he announced their relationship in public because she did not want to get her hopes up too high.

After closing the Schanely project, Lindsey was commended at their weekly Monday meeting.

"Ms. Juhl, someone is looking for you at the reception." Since Lindsey frequently appeared with the top management of the company, everyone in the consulting department was much more polite to her, but only they knew what they secretly thought of her.

Lindsey put her things down, rubbed her sore neck, and casually asked, "Who is it?"

"They said they’re your parents."

Lindsey froze and thought, ‘Parents?’ Her heart beat wildly for a few seconds, then she quickly regained her composure.

‘What parents?’

She squeezed out a smile and said, “Alright, thanks.”

Lindsey had already guessed who the visitors were and hid the gloom in her eyes as she got up and went downstairs.

At the Hemera office lobby, a middle-aged couple was standing side by side. The man was dressed normally, but the woman was fashionable and looked like a socialite.

When Lindsey came down, Stephanie Lindt was impatient as they had been waiting for a long time. "Do you think that brat will see us?"

Henry Juhl did not reply and Stephanie did not expect him to answer. After muttering, she pulled a random person over and asked, "Lindsey Juhl is working here, right?"

The person nodded and Stephanie said in a loud voice, "I knew it! She must be hiding from us. We can’t just condone this. Let’s go upstairs to look for her!"

Stephanie dragged Henry, wanting to go upstairs, but she was stopped by the security guard and the receptionist. "Excuse me, you can't go up without an appointment."

"Then tell Lindsey Juhl to come out!"

"I'm right here. What do you want from me?"

When Stephanie saw Lindsey, she immediately let go of the person she had casually grabbed and walked forward.

Lindsey had not seen her in a long time, and at that moment, looking at the same face from her memories triggered a feeling of disgust.

She knew Stephanie’s temper. If she was left to make a scene here, Shaun might get implicated, so Lindsey hurriedly interrupted Stephanie before she could speak. "Let’s talk somewhere else." After saying that, Lindsey took the lead and went outside.

Stephanie was displeased at Lindsey’s attitude and wanted to retort, but she was held back by Henry, who whispered, "Let’s just follow her and see what she has to say."

She then cursed as she followed along.

Lindsey was unfazed by the nagging voice behind her and found a cafe nearby that had a private room. She then settled them down inside.
