Zayn Guggenheim had tried his best all day to make Lindsey happy, but in the end, Lindsey thought of him like that.
‘Apologize on behalf of Jenny Lenig? Ha! Only she could think of this!’
Lindsey wanted to be sarcastic, but she was silenced.
Zayn had always been dominating in bed.
Lindsey kicked him and said, “Zayn, I’m still sick!”
‘Was he that desperate?’
“It’s good to sweat it out.”
Even though this was just an excuse, Lindsey’s head actually did not hurt as much the next day.
They did not mention what happened that day. Zayn did not explain himself because he felt that his actions were enough to prove his feelings for her. On the other hand, Lindsey just did not want to waste her effort overthinking things.
Lindsey felt so much better, but she was still on her third day of sick leave. She was in a great mood and cooked a few dishes with Mrs. Wendy.
Zayn ate the dishes Lindsey cooked without commenting on them, but he ate more than his usual portion.
It was rare for the two of them to get along so well. Mrs. Wendy was so delighted that she secretly called the old man to report the situation.
Once the three days of vacation were over, Lindsey, who was hyped to get back to work, met another tough nut to crack.
Mr. Spencer was the person in charge of the Schanely Corporation's dealings with Hemera. He had suddenly resigned and left without doing a handover, but the project still had to be discussed. Hemera’s management was not aware of the full story and asked Lindsey to continue handling this project.
Somehow, Schanely Corporation was not compatible with Lindsey. She called them several times consecutively but failed to get an appointment. After finally getting an appointment, the other party just beat around the bush and neither rejected nor accepted the deal.
"Mr. Zanders, you should be able to see Hemera’s sincerity about this deal. Even though we’re not the best in the industry, we still have the capital and resources to work with your company. It’s a mutually beneficial deal for both our companies. Since we’ve already met several times, I’d like to get an answer today so I can get back to my bosses." Lindsey had a polite smile plastered on her face, but her patience was running out.
"Ms. Juhl, what’s the hurry? Let’s have a drink first." Mr. Zanders was an old-timer in the industry.
There were rumors that Denarius was also interested in cooperating with Schanely, but it was not confirmed yet. In order not to end up empty-handed, he was dragging on Hemera while trying to get in touch with Denarius.
Lindsey did not know why the other party was dragging her on like this, but that did not mean she could not tell that Schanely did not have the intention to cooperate with Hemera.
She picked up her purse and packed her things, ready to leave. "Mr. Zanders, I understand what you mean. In that case, I won't bother you any longer. Let's work together again when the opportunity arises."
Mr. Zanders thought that Schanely’s business would be very valuable to Lindsey seeing that she looked so young and inexperienced, but he did not expect her to be so decisive.
He opened his mouth to stop her, but he heard a voice from behind him, "Jake Zanders! What are you doing here?"
Jake Zanders quickly stood up. The arrogant attitude he carried in front of Lindsey disappeared and was replaced by a respectful one.
