Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 583

After being yelled at by Lindsey, the young man touched his nose awkwardly and still did not want to leave. If something happened to Lindsey, he would be in big trouble.

Lindsey also knew that she should not be angry with this guy because it was not his fault, so she simply raised her hand to hail a taxi. She then said in a suppressed tone, "Send this man to the police station. Don't make me repeat myself the third time!"

After saying that, she pulled open the car door and left.

In early spring, the willow trees on the roadside were just sprouting some greens, which brought colors to the city with gray buildings. Lindsey did not want to cry, nor did she want to talk. She just wanted to be alone.

It was not time for her to go home, nor did she want to go to the office. She just let the taxi drive around randomly and only went back when the sky was turning dark. It was time to pick Dezi up from school. Lindsey was afraid that Dezi would find out that something was wrong with her, so she went back to Hemera and got her car.

When she arrived at the kindergarten, Dezi, who was wearing a small pastel blue jacket, immediately jumped into Lindsey's arms.

"Mommy!"

She caught her son's milk-scented little body and smiled. "Let's go."

However, Dezi did not move and frowned at the man who was walking towards them. Lindsey was a bit distracted and did not even notice that Arthur was watching them from a short distance away.

When Dezi looked over, Lindsey became alert and shielded Dezi behind her. She looked at Arthur with a glum face. "What do you want?"

Arthur tilted his head and looked a bit distressed. "I just want to have a good chat with you and Aksel."

Lindsey was already in a bad mood. When he mentioned something that made her even more irritable, she said in an unfriendly tone, "I have nothing to chat with you about. Bye."

Arthur raised his eyebrows. ‘Why do I feel that this woman is so grumpy today?’ In the past, Lindsey was just cold and her words were hurtful, but today, she seemed like a small grenade, ready to explode.

He asked, "What's wrong with you?"

Lindsey wanted to ignore him and bypassed him to leave with Dezi.

However, Arthur was not planning to just let her go. As Lindsey walked past him, he reached out and carried Dezi, whom Lindsey was holding behind her, into his arms, then took a few steps back.

"I really want to talk to you. I guarantee that my plan for Aksel will satisfy both of us." He ignored the struggle of the child in his arms and held Dezi in an awkward position.

Lindsey's heart skipped a beat when she saw Arthur carrying Dezi. She did not even hear what Arthur said and her head just buzzed. She reached out to scratch Arthur with a mixture of panic, fear, and anger on her face. "Give him back to me!"

Unfortunately, the tall man did not listen to her and even took a step back. "No, we really need to talk. You can’t just decide on Aksel’s future alone!"

All the repressed anger Lindsey felt in the afternoon surged up and made her explode. Her eyes were red as she stared at Arthur. Her chest was heaving violently. "Give me my son!"

Dezi also struggled violently in Arthur's arms. "Let go! Let go of me! Mommy! I want Mommy!"

"Give him back to me!" When Lindsey heard her son's voice, she became even more agitated and pounced on Arthur at once.

He walked over and stretched out his fingers, then withdrew them several times. Finally, he patted Lindsey's shoulder.

"I'm sorry." Arthur lowered his head to apologize. "I didn't mean to."

This was not his intention.

Lindsey was so immersed in her own emotions that she simply could not extricate herself. When she heard Arthur's words, she said with a crying yet vicious voice, "Go away!"

Arthur felt guilty and did not speak again, but he also did not leave.

The current head of the Evans family was yelled at like this by a woman and did not even leave in a huff. Arthur himself felt a little incredulous.

Lindsey came to pick Dezi up a little later than usual, so the kindergarten only had a few parents. Their commotion still attracted some attention. It was mainly because Arthur looked too stunning and really stood out from the crowd.

Luckily, Lindsey did not let her emotions run wild for too long. After crying it all out, the suffocating feeling in her heart diminished a little. She wiped away the tears on her face and helped Dezi to wipe his tears. She then apologized to the child. "Mommy’s fine. Dezi, don’t worry. Don’t cry, okay?"

After saying that, she smiled at Dezi reassuringly. When she stood up, she realized that Arthur had not left.

He did not look lost anymore. He just looked indifferent as he stood there with his arms folded. His light brown eyes watched her and he did not look like he was waiting here on purpose.
