While Yvette shrunk back in pain, the man quickly and forcefully pried Yvette's hands away from Dezi and took the boy into his own arms. The two men then turned and ran.
"Call the police!" Lindsey shouted at Yvette and did not pause for a moment as she chased after the two men.
When Dezi saw his mother following him, his tiny kitten-like scream became even sharper. His tears fell uncontrollably.
Lindsey’s heart ached so much that it felt like someone was stabbing her. She chased after the man, but he was much more physically fit than she was. Carrying a child seemed to not have affected his speed either. Lindsey was tired from running, but when she saw her son struggling in the arms of the kidnapper with tears all over his face, she somehow found the strength in her exhausted body and actually caught up with the man.
"Let go of my son!" Lindsey grabbed the man’s arm that was holding Dezi. Her weak fingers somehow exploded with a newfound strength that she even made the man stumble. Dezi also took the opportunity to stomp hard on the man's chest with his short legs and stretched out his hands towards Lindsey.
Lindsey was elated and quickly reached out to receive him into her arms. However, she felt a sudden pain as the other man fiercely pinched Lindsey’s forearm. He pushed her hard and she fell to the ground.
The two bones in her arm seemed to be broken. Lindsey could not even open her eyes because of the pain, but she still struggled to get up. Her voice sounded like she was about to cry. "Let go of my son!"
"Get lost!" The man kicked Lindsey in the calf. Lindsey was numb with pain, but she took the opportunity to grab onto the man's leg. "Put him down!"
"F*ck!" The man tried to break away from Lindsey's grip, but Lindsey was clinging onto him tightly. The thin-looking woman glared at him with a frightening gaze and kept repeating, "Let go of my son!"
The man beside him that was holding the struggling boy in his arms impatiently slapped the boy on the head. "Be quiet, you little brat!"
He then looked impatiently at the person whose legs were held by Lindsey. He said urgently, "Hurry up, get her off! Let’s go!"
The man also felt ashamed for being stuck because his legs were hugged by a woman. He lifted his hand to slap Lindsey's face.
Lindsey subconsciously dodged her head and closed her eyes tightly, but she exerted more force on her hands.
"Lindsey!"
"Who’s there?"
These two sounds came almost at the same time, but Lindsey only heard Sieben's voice. Lindsey was in so much pain that her voice changed. "Sieben!"
The expected slap did not come and the leg that Lindsey held onto felt limp. Lindsey opened her eyes to see that the man who was about to slap her had fallen to the ground.
There was a dim flashlight coming from the front.
‘Someone is coming!’
Lindsey felt overjoyed.
The man who was holding Dezi saw that the situation was awry and held the child tightly. He turned around and was ready to run away with the boy.
"Sieben, stop him!" Lindsey shouted to Sieben without a second thought.
Sieben had just subjugated one of the men and did not hesitate when she heard Lindsey's words.
Quentin could not hear what was going on, but his heart was tense. In less than a minute, Zayn pushed Quentin away as he strode outside and instructed, "Get someone to locate Madam’s phone now!"
There was panic and seriousness in Zayn’s voice. Quentin suddenly looked stern and quickly obeyed.
In the basement parking lot of the mall.
Once Lindsey saw that Dezi was saved by Sieben, she could finally let out a breath of relief. Shortly after, all the pain in her body surged up at once. She pushed her arms on the ground and tried to stand up, but she had no strength.
The security guards of the mall came after the whole ordeal. They only saw a cold-looking and panic-stricken girl holding a crying boy in her arms as she ran towards the woman who was lying limp on the ground. There were also two unconscious men on the ground.
"Lindsey!" Sieben came out from her state of self-defense and darted to Lindsey. Dezi came down from Sieben’s arms. The moment he got on the ground, he did not stand still and fell softly on the ground, right next to Lindsey.
Sieben wanted to help Lindsey up, but before she could, Lindsey winced in pain. She did not care for her own injuries and touched Dezi’s face and body. “Are you hurt?”
Dezi was crying and looked so pitiful. He shook his head and reached out to hug Lindsey, but she was lying on the ground, so he could only put his hand on her face. His mouth opened like he wanted to say something, but he still could not make a sound, so he just cried even more.
"Mommy’s fine." Lindsey touched his little face, then looked at Sieben and said, "Go find Yvette and contact Zayn..."
Before Lindsey finished her words, she passed out.
"Hey! What's going on?!" The security guards who came late saw this scene and were dumbfounded.
