Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 420

"Dezi’s fine. Sieben ran too fast. She’s probably also frightened, so she carried Dezi and went back home. Don’t be scared." Shaun’s heart was also pounding, but he kept comforting Lindsey.

Lindsey’s lips moved slightly and she finally found her voice. She wiped away her tears and said in a trembling voice, “Aunt Wendy said that the driver’s dead.”

Shaun already knew this. He reached out to pat her shoulder and drew a few tissues to help Lindsey wipe the tears off her face. His expression was solemn and he did not know what to say for a while.

The driver picked up speed and they soon arrived home.

"Dezi! Sieben!" Lindsey pushed open the door and ignored her own injuries as she rushed inside. Her heart only settled down after she saw the two of them sitting in the living room while Mrs. Wendy dressed their wounds.

"Lindsey..." Sieben sounded like she was crying. She looked at Lindsey and sniffled. Her tears looked like they were about to fall out.

Lindsey took a few steps forward and held Dezi in one arm while her other arm was tightly wrapped around Sieben's shoulders. Her voice also sounded like she was about to cry. "I'm so glad that you’re both fine..."

She choked up and could not say more. A burst of fear suddenly surged in her.

Soon after, Lindsey let go of them and examined them. "Where are you hurt? Does your face hurt? I'll take you to the hospital."

Sieben stretched out her fair and tender arms, which were covered with abrasions. Dezi only had a tiny bruise above his eyebrow, but he was obviously terrified. He hugged Lindsey and would not let go. His big round eyes were filled with panic.

"Don’t be scared. It's okay, Mommy’s here. Don’t be scared." Lindsey stroked his head and gently patted Dezi’s back.

She lifted Sieben's arm and saw blood all over it. Her heart ached beyond words. She sniffled and said, "Let’s go, I’ll take you to the hospital."

Behind her, Shaun took a step forward and said in time, "Don't go out. I invited a doctor to the house. He’ll be here soon."

Lindsey had already lost her ability to think. Her heart was still pounding and she nodded at the words.

The doctor came to examine the two of them. He said that these were only superficial injuries and their vitals were fine, so Lindsey finally let out a sigh of relief.

Shaun said that he would compensate the driver’s family properly. Lindsey wanted to go and see them, but Shaun stopped her.

"Stay at home with the children. Don't worry."

Lindsey was so grateful that she did not know what to say. She looked back at Sieben and Dezi who were playing together again.

She dared not imagine what would have happened if Sieben was not there today, or if they had not jumped out of the car in time.

At night, Lindsey did not let Sieben go back to her room and asked her and Dezi to sleep next to her. Lindsey reached out and patted the two of them. "Go to sleep. I'll stay with you both tonight."

Sieben sighed happily. "Okay, I can get a good sleep tonight."

She could not sleep without someone around her. She was much better now, but she still preferred the feeling of having someone next to her.

Dezi also clung to Lindsey.

It was a quiet night, but the police station was brightly lit.

Felipe was also a little helpless. He finished his cigarette and stubbed it out. He then reached out and patted Zayn's shoulder. "I'm leaving."

It was not good for Felipe to stay there for too long.

Now in the eyes of the police, Zayn was not willing to say anything nor admit to what he had done and was very uncooperative. Due to the nature of the case, they could not convict him at will.

"You know that I’m a man of my word." As Felipe was about to leave, a gloomy voice suddenly came from behind him.

Felipe paused in his footsteps. After a few seconds, he said, "You know that I’m a man of my word too."

The two men seemed to have reached some kind of consensus. Only then did Zayn's tightly clenched hands slowly loosen.

His eyes once again fell on Lindsey, who was held in Shaun's arms. Longing and jealousy were gnawing at Zayn's sanity.

After the accident, the car was found to have brake failure. Shaun reported it to the police and even found a private investigator to start investigating it, but they found nothing for the time being.

Due to this accident, Lindsey took a week off school for Dezi and stayed at home with him and Sieben for a few days. After feeling that the trauma had gradually faded, she gradually settled down.

Shaun had also increased the protection of Lindsey and the children. Every time they went out with a car, the car would be thoroughly checked.

Zayn’s case was still pending. Lindsey tried to withstand the pressure to save the situation, but Denarius was still on a declining trend.

The immense pressure and worry for Zayn as well as the crazy surge of anxiety almost made Lindsey break down several times.
