"What are you doing? Drive!" Yvette frowned at the people in the car who were looking at her with surprise. She did not bother with the look on their faces and said with some impatience to the driver.
The driver was also familiar with Yvette. After all, he had been working with Shaun for quite a long time. There was a time when Yvette would find various excuses to sit in Shaun's car.
Speaking of which, it had been more than a year since then.
Yvette felt a little strange when she got into Shaun’s car again. However, she did not forget the purpose of her following them today.
"Let's go to the Beta Hospital first. It's closest to here." Yvette looked back at Lindsey and looked worried.
Lindsey nodded. "Okay."
"Fasten your seat belt." Shaun's voice suddenly sounded with a hint of anger. No one knew what he was angry about.
Lindsey looked at him, then at Yvette, and sat there quietly. Yvette’s eyes were downcast as she turned around and reached out to fasten her seat belt.
Shaun always wanted Yvette to be obedient, but when she finally listened to him, he felt uncomfortable because it was so different from the petulant Yvette he knew.
They soon arrived at the hospital. The doctor took X-rays of Lindsey and did several tests to make sure that Lindsey's bones were not broken. However, she had been hit hard and had a large bruise on her back. He prescribed some ointment and had the nurse help Lindsey apply it, so it did not hurt so much.
Lindsey was inside getting treatment while Yvette and Shaun were waiting outside. When she went out, she sensed the tension between them. Also, next to Yvette was Finn Moeller, who had followed her here at some point.
The moment Lindsey came out, she heard Yvette's angry voice saying, "So what if I'm with him?"
When Yvette saw Lindsey coming out of the room, she lowered her head with embarrassment and sniffled. "Lindsey, you should go back and get some rest. I'll leave first."
Next to her, Finn took Yvette’s hand and nodded to Shaun and Lindsey. He then looked at Yvette with a tender gaze and said, "Yvie, let's go."
Shaun's face darkened instantly when Finn called her "Yvie", but in the end, he did not say anything and watched her being led away by Finn.
Lindsey walked over while holding her waist, which did not hurt so much anymore. She sighed and asked, "Brother, what's going on with you two?"
‘Why are you both always so tense?’
Shaun reached out to help Lindsey. His face was still glum. "Let’s go down first. We'll talk about it when we get back."
Yvette, who was following Finn, shrugged off his hand and looked cold almost as soon as they were out of Shaun's sight. “Thanks for playing along with me. I’ll head home first.”
Finn rubbed his fingers and smiled. "What if I say that I’m not acting?"
Yvette was emotionless. “Then I hope you’re just acting. Mr. Moeller, I won't like you. No matter what your purpose is to approach me, I won't be with you. I hope this is the last time we meet ‘coincidentally’."
After she said that, she left without waiting for Finn’s reply. Finn stood in the same place for a while and looked at her departing back. He suddenly let out a low laugh. "How interesting..."
However, those who were familiar with Shaun knew his character. Shaun was not a playboy like others in the industry. Yvette should not have held a grudge against him because of this matter.
Lindsey still did not figure it out when her phone in her bag suddenly rang. She took out her phone and saw that the caller was Mrs. Wendy.
She changed her position and picked up the call. "Hello, Aunt Wendy?"
"Madam." Mrs. Wendy’s voice over the phone sounded like she was crying. "The Young Master's been in a car accident!"
Lindsey’s head buzzed. Her heart stopped for a moment. “What did you say?”
At the same time, Shaun’s phone also rang. He saw that it was the bodyguard who was assigned to protect Dezi. Relating it to Lindsey's current reaction, Shaun's heart also thumped.
Mrs. Wendy continued, “The car somehow couldn’t stop in time and almost hit a trailer. The Young Master was carried by Sieben when she jumped out of the car, but the driver...the driver didn’t have time to jump out and died on the spot."
She was obviously frightened. Today, Sieben went to pick up Dezi after school with the bodyguards. Sieben held Dezi after jumping out of the car and ran all the way home. The two of them were bloodied and they scared Mrs. Wendy.
Lindsey's hand that was holding the phone was shaking uncontrollably. She only kept repeating, "I'll be right back, Aunt Wendy. Don't go out. Help Dezi and Sieben with their wounds first. Don't go out, Aunt Wendy. I'll be right back."
She did not even notice that her tears gushed out. She was terrified.
Lindsey did not hang up the phone and looked back at Shaun. It just so happened that Shaun had just finished his phone call as well.
