Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 376

The Guggenheim Villa.

After the doctor did a checkup for Lindsey and her fever receded, Zayn called the doctor back in and had him do a simple examination for the little one who was still asleep.

The doctor was stunned for a moment when he saw the dirt on the little body, but he quickly adjusted his expression.

"He looks a little malnourished, but his body is in good shape. It’s still recommended to take him to the hospital for a more comprehensive examination."

"Alright." Zayn nodded. Perhaps by tomorrow, they would have returned him to his parents.

The maid sent the doctor out. Zayn took the towel from Yvette and personally helped Lindsey to wipe the dirt off her face.

They had no clue where Lindsey and the child went because the two of them looked like they had been splashed with mud.

Lindsey was still feverish, so they could not bring her for a bath. Zayn could only wipe her face slowly. Zayn did not notice, but behind him, Yvette suddenly asked, “You’re awake?”

Zayn looked back and found that the little one who was sleeping on the sofa was awake.

His eyes were a little confused and he looked dazed, but his vision soon became clear and alert. Then, he swayed and landed on Lindsey.

He looked relieved.

Yvette did not bother about the alert in his eyes. To them, he was just a tiny little human. Even if he glared at them, it was not scary.

She pressed the warm towel in her hand onto the little one's face. Yvette controlled the force she applied to wipe off the dirt from his face. She then teased him. "How did you get yourself into this state? Look at you, all muddy and dirty. Where are your parents? Or guardian?"

The child never said a word, but he desperately picked at the towel on his face. He even scratched Yvette's hand with his nails.

Yvette let out a light yelp and hurriedly withdrew her hand. She then saw a long bloodstain on the back of her hand.

Frowning, Yvette made a fierce expression. "Why are you so mean?! Do you think you’re the only one with nails?"

As she said this, she bared her claws in front of the boy’s face. Once she saw some fear in his eyes, she laughed like she had succeeded in a prank.

Shaun, who had been leaning against the door, could not stand it any longer and went forward to lift the boy from his armpits with ease. He frowned slightly at Yvette and said, "Hurry up and clean him."

In return, he got a fierce look from Yvette.

Shaun went to one of the guest rooms in the villa and threw the boy into the bathtub despite his struggle.

Then with the maid, he helped the boy take a bath.

Zayn did not care at all. All he thought about was Lindsey. After wiping Lindsey’s face clean, he carefully helped her to take off her clothes and put on clean and comfortable pajamas. He then stared at Lindsey's sleeping face and went into a daze.

It was already very late, so Zayn had ordered the maids to clean up the guest rooms for Shaun and Yvette. It was up to them whether they wanted to stay overnight or go back to their own home.

Zayn stayed in his bedroom with Lindsey and was about to fall asleep when he heard Yvette's startled cry from outside the door.

He frowned and first looked at Lindsey to see that she was not awakened. Only then did he sit up.

For the first time, Zayn had his doubts. How could Callum Wendell, the wolf in sheep’s clothing, have such an annoying sister?

He came downstairs and took a look around. When he saw that the boy was still wrapped in a bath towel, he asked, "Why didn’t you dress him?"

"Where will I find clothes his size?" Shaun stretched out his hands. "There are no children's clothes here, so I got someone to buy them."

The good thing was that it was not cold in the house, so he would not catch a cold.

A group of adults surrounded this small child. Zayn moved his fingertips and sat beside the little guy. He could clearly feel that the child was shivering.

Zayn thought about it and reached out to pull him to the sofa.

The child's body was soft and felt like cotton when Zayn grabbed him. Zayn thought that if he used a little more strength, he might break his little arm.

Zayn lifted the boy’s head and saw wariness slowly forming in those eyes.

"Can you speak English? Do you understand me?" Zayn unconsciously slowed down his tone and asked as gently as he could.

The little man in front of him just looked at him with big round eyes. He did not say anything or move.

"What about German?" Zayn asked in German.

There was still no response.

The boy was like a delicate wooden doll that only blinked from time to time. He was extremely adorable.

"Does this child not know how to speak?"
