Lindsey smiled and looked delighted. She was muttering something, but Zayn did not hear her. After she got dressed and came out of the room, she looked much better than before. She even put on some light makeup and looked like she was going to a formal event.
Zayn had not seen Lindsey looking so energetic in a long time, so he could not control himself and pressed her against the wall before they went out. He kissed her aggressively before he let her go. Lindsey was so ashamed that she punched his chest.
They went back to the same hospital as before. Soren arranged for someone to accompany Sieben to the amusement park, so today, it was just Lindsey and Zayn followed by a few bodyguards.
When the doctor helped Zayn to remove his gauze, Lindsey stood at the side and did not dare to look at it. Her brows were tightly furrowed.
"Don't look if you don't dare to. Wait for me outside." Zayn reached out to cover Lindsey's eyes.
Lindsey pulled his hand down and held it tightly. She looked stubborn and said, "I wanna stay with you."
Her words melted his heart, but he still could not bear for Lindsey to look at the gory scab. He was afraid that she would blame herself again, so he coaxed her, “It'll be done soon. It’s all the same if you wait for me outside.”
Lindsey still wanted to insist, but in the end, she could not win over Zayn and was forced out of the room by him.
The process of removing the gauze was quick. Zayn's attending doctor looked at Zayn's wound with a frown on his face. Despite Zayn's murderous gaze, the old doctor that had a white beard still rambled on for a long time for Zayn to take better care of himself.
Zayn seemed to be listening intently, but his thoughts had already drifted to Lindsey.
"Alright, just explain the rest to my bodyguards. Thanks." Zayn finally could not stand it any longer and interrupted the doctor. In fact, it had only been about ten minutes, but Zayn still did not have that patience.
Zayn casually took his coat that he left on the side and walked out the door. He swept a glance around, but he did not see Lindsey who should have been waiting for him in the corridor.
The two bodyguards were still standing at the door. Zayn's eyes flashed and pulled one of them. His tone unconsciously became harsh as he asked, "Where’s the Madam?"
The bodyguard was startled by the look in Zayn’s eyes. "M...Madam said she’s going to the bathroom and didn’t let us follow."
Zayn only felt half-relieved and walked in the direction of the ladies’ bathroom without a care for the weird looks he got.
Instead of going in, Zayn pulled a nurse aside and said, "Excuse me, can you please go in and help me ask if there’s a girl named Lindsey Juhl inside?"
The young nurse saw his face and met his eyes. She instantly blushed and could not even say a word. She just nodded and ran into the bathroom.
Zayn leaned against the wall and waited for a while. After reaping the gazes of countless women coming in and out, he finally waited for the nurse to come back out.
The nurse sashayed up to Zayn with a bold and sexy gaze, but she stuttered a little when she spoke, "Sor...sorry, there’s no one named Lindsey Juhl inside."
She was a bit incoherent, probably because she rarely spoke English.
Before the nurse could finish the rest of her words, the man in front of her grabbed her by the arm.
"What did you say? There's no one inside?" Zayn's face looked so manly.
Lindsey was standing in place, so Zayn pushed the car door open and got out. He then saw her taking a step onto the road while the pedestrian’s traffic light was still red.
Zayn’s reflexes were faster than his brain as he pulled Lindsey back. "Lindsey!"
At that moment, he was in extreme panic and could not control his strength, so Lindsey slammed right into his chest.
"What are you doing?! Didn’t you see that it's a red light?!" Zayn’s chest heaved violently. He held Lindsey steady and sized her up. He was furious and scared, so he could not help but yell at her.
Lindsey was startled by his roar and looked at him timidly. Her eyes looked frightened. "Are you angry?"
She sounded aggrieved and looked like this, which made Zayn’s rage magically disappear.
Zayn pulled Lindsey into his arms not very gently, but he was still careful. His voice was filled with fear as he said, “You scared me!”
Lindsey looked dumbfounded. After a while, she hugged him back and suddenly realized her mistake. “I forgot to tell you.”
There were a few people walking past and their behavior caused a few passersby to stare at them. Zayn sighed and hugged Lindsey tightly. He then let go of her and led her to the car.
Lindsey looked longingly at the opposite side of the road and was reluctant to go into the car, so Zayn just shoved her inside, which was unlike his usual behavior to her lately. During this time, Zayn had been walking on eggshells around Lindsey and was rarely so domineering.
