"What are you doing?!" Ginny Young stared at Terence Moeller and tried to pry his hands off of her, but Terence was holding her so tightly that she did not manage to.
Terence even pinched her chin with ease and asked her with a smile, "Looks like you had a lot of fun today, huh?"
"Let go of me!" Ginny hated this side of Terence the most.
"You want me to let go of you? Then who do you want to hold you instead?" Terence scrutinized every inch of Ginny's face and looked colder by the minute.
Ginny was furious and stepped on Terence’s foot fiercely. "Will you stop being crazy?!"
Terence was unfazed. His eyes narrowed and looked at her puzzled. "Why are you always able to smile so brightly when you’re with others? But when it comes to me, you always look like this..."
"Don't make it sound like you want me to smile at you. I feel revolted even if this doesn't disgust you." Ginny broke away from Terence's grip and her face was as cold as frost.
Terence was no longer forceful and buried his head in the nape of Ginny’s neck. He took a deep breath of her comforting scent and put his hand over her belly. He sounded aggrieved as he said softly, “Ginny, why are you always so mean to me?”
Ginny closed her eyes and forced herself to ignore the tenderness in the man's tone. She had fallen head over heels for Terence's gentle facade every time, only for reality to give her a hard blow. It was about time for her to learn her lesson.
"Do you even need me to be nice to you?" The words that came out of Ginny's mouth were very sarcastic. "Isn't your second sister-in-law's tenderness enough for you? I know you just want a child. If our child turns out to be a boy when it’s born, then I’ll give it to you. If it's not, you better not forget what you promised me."
Ginny's voice was cold. Only she knew that her voice was trembling very slightly.
The Moellers were old-fashioned and sexist. Only male direct descendants had the right to inherit the Moeller family fortune. On the other hand, girls born in the Moeller family were only used for marriage alliances. That was why the child in Ginny’s womb was so important to Terence. If their child was a boy, Terence would have another bargaining chip to compete with the rest of the Moeller family.
Ginny had always suspected that it was not an accident that she got pregnant and that Terence had planned this all along. That was because the more power he had in the Moeller family, the closer he was to take back his beloved woman.
The thought of her own child being used as a bargaining chip in the power struggle made Ginny feel sick to the stomach.
She turned her back on Terence and could not see that the man's face gradually became gloomy and cold, even a little crazy.
The fact that Ginny brought this up at this time was undoubtedly to aggravate Terence.
“Of course, I’d never go back on our promise.” Terence's voice became more gentle.
However, in the next second, Ginny was caught off guard as he suddenly turned her around and kissed her aggressively on her lips. It was a completely forceful kiss that even carried a little anger.
Terence then reached out and raised the partition between the front and back seats. Before Ginny could react, the man's tongue and hands were already assaulting her.
"Terence Moeller, you bastard! Let go of me! We’re still in the car!" The man was completely unmoved by Ginny’s desperate pounding.
“So what? It's not like we haven't done it in the car before. Babe, just relax…” Terence’s voice was gentle, but his actions were rough.
"You’ll hurt the baby!" When Terence was about to ravage her, Ginny begged him to stop.
"I thought that I could protect him." Lindsey clutched the little thing and was nostalgic. Zayn could not see her expression, but he could hear her voice choking.
"I'm so useless, Zayn...I regret it so much..."
Zayn had been listening to Lindsey’s monologue and was silent the entire time. When he heard this, he suddenly clenched Lindsey's shoulders and said, "I’m the useless one. I didn’t protect the both of you. I didn’t rescue you in time and didn’t get to save our child. It’s all my fault! I don't blame you. I really don't blame you, so don't criticize yourself, okay?"
The world they barely managed to put together had a deep crack that was hard to heal.
They each felt at fault that they lost their child and tried to convince each other while they tormented themselves.
After crying and saying what was in her heart, Lindsey looked to be in a much better state. Although she did not say it all this time, she had been constantly condemning herself in her heart.
A few days passed. Lindsey was still downcast and would often talk in her sleep. Sometimes, she would also be startled awake.
However, she no longer did anything that worried Zayn. She would eat regularly every day and her appetite also improved.
The two of them were also gradually recovering from their injuries. When it was time for Zayn to remove the gauze on his wound, Lindsey, who had been reluctant to leave the house, surprisingly took the initiative to accompany him.
"Do you think I can wear this dress?" Lindsey was holding a canary-colored dress to her body. She rarely wore such bright colors in the past.
Zayn saw it and smiled. “You look beautiful!”
