Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 250

When Callum saw Shaun approaching, he stepped forward and grabbed Shaun's collar, then he smashed his fist into Shaun’s face.

Shaun did not dodge and took it squarely. However, probably because Callum's hand was shaking too much, his punch grazed Shaun's cheek and did not hurt him much.

Callum was breathing heavily. His eyes were identical to Yvette's. He stared at Shaun and his voice choked as he said, "If something really...really happens to Yvette, I won’t let you go!"

After he said that, it was as if he used all his strength. The thirty-year-old man suddenly squatted down. His eyes were bloodshot and he looked like he was about to burst into tears. “But what good would it do to kill you? Even if I kill you, Yvette’s never coming back...”

Shaun choked and his feigned calmness instantly collapsed.

His fingers were trembling and he could barely stand, but Shaun forced himself to stand upright so he would not fall. "I'm sorry."

This apology was directed to Callum, but it was also directed to that bubbly and vibrant girl.

Behind them was the noisy airport lobby, a place where all the sadness and happiness occurred. That night, so many people had been woken up. Some were still wearing their pajamas as they waited for a person who they might never see again in their lifetime.

Life was short and fleeting.

Lindsey easily became feverish and could not get overly emotional. Moreover, the other party had drugged her with something, so before she could get back to the Guggenheim mansion, she had already fainted.

Zayn carried her into the house. Luckily, the doctor was familiar with this, so he skillfully treated Lindsey. The only thing was that Lindsey was pregnant and could not eat a lot of medicine, so a cold compress would work best to cool her body temperature.

Lindsey was muttering something in a daze. Zayn sent the maids away and took care of her personally. He could not get enough of her and kept staring at her face every few minutes.

"Zayn, don't go..." The gibberish that came out of Lindsey's mouth suddenly became clear.

After saying that, a tear fell from the corner of the tightly closed eye.

Her brow was tightly furrowed, which made Zayn's heart tense up. He held Lindsey's hand and whispered soothingly, "I won’t leave you ever again."

Lindsey was in a daze but she still held Zayn’s hand tightly.

Every human being was emotional and no one could escape from their emotions.

......

"Yvette’s such a smiley person since she’s a baby." Callum squatted on the ground. He no longer looked like the playboy that he was. He just had a bitter smile as he said, “When she was just born, she didn’t have any teeth, but she already knew how to smile at me.”

“I didn't like her at first. She cried, made a scene, and took away my parents' attention. But when she saw me, she smiled, and my family said that she likes her brother and will definitely be close to me one day.

“I saw her silly face and thought that she’s so stupid and only knows how to smile. In the future, she’ll surely be a fool, so I have to protect her. Otherwise, she’ll get scammed."

The smile on Callum's face was getting lighter. His hands were in his hair as he stared straight at the empty floor. His voice gradually sounded hollow as he said, "My parents died when she was nine years old. Back then, she was clueless. My mother took my hand and told me with her last breath to take good care of Yvette because she’s the only family I had left.

“I didn't dare to let Yvette see my parents off, and she blamed me for a long time for that."

In the past, Callum would have chased her and beat her up, then asked her what was going on, but at the moment, he just hugged the little girl in his arms tighter and gave a strong nasally "mm".

Yvette’s eyes also turned red and she said aggrievedly, "You said you don’t want a sister like me."

"I was wrong."

Just like many years ago, the hungover Callum looked at his sister, who was much smaller than himself, and suddenly hugged her. He choked and sobbed, "I’ll never be mean to you ever again."

Although he repeated this sentence many years later, this would always apply.

"Shame on you!" Yvette muttered in a small voice, but she gently patted Callum on the back to help soothe his breathing.

Shaun looked at the girl with her back towards him looking slightly disheveled but intact, and the big rock in his chest was somehow lifted.

Callum finally came out from his grief of losing a loved one, so Yvette let go of him and turned to walk towards Shaun. "Sorry about that...my brother’s just a little..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the man in front of her suddenly pulled her into his arms and the words Yvette wanted to say were completely stuck in her throat.

"You..."

"I'm glad you’re okay," Shaun said softly in her ear. His voice was unprecedentedly gentle and relieved, even a little delighted.
