Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 222

The Wendells’ party was said to be held for Yvette, but Lindsey arrived to find out that Yvette did not want this party. Instead, it was held in the name of her brother, Callum Wendell.

Zayn accompanied Lindsey to the party. Even though this was just a small gathering, they still invited Atlantic City’s elites and the party was very lively.

Lindsey left Zayn to his own devices while she went to look for Yvette. She saw that Yvette was surrounded by a crowd, but she did not look very happy.

When Yvette saw Lindsey, her face brightened up. "Lindsey!"

Lindsey smiled and greeted her. Seeing that there were so many people around her, she did not want to mingle and casually found a corner to take a seat.

A few moments later, a waitress came up to Lindsey and lowered her head as she said, "Madam, that gentleman over there asked you not to eat so many desserts."

Lindsey's hand, which was reaching for a very appetizing slice of cake, abruptly retracted as she looked in the direction the waitress was pointing, right into Zayn's smiling eyes.

She glared at him strangely. Lindsey had a good appetite recently, but Zayn was always watching her to keep her from eating too much.

The interaction between the two fell in Allie Wilford’s eyes, who followed behind Liam and saw Zayn in the crowd. She then followed Zayn's line of sight and saw Lindsey.

The voices of two middle-aged upper-class women sounded from the side, "That's the wife of Denarius’ President. She’s really stunning."

The other one rolled her eyes and said, "You’re not well-informed enough. She’s now the real head of Denarius. President Guggenheim transferred half of his shares to her. Adding to the shares Old Master Guggenheim left for the child in her womb, she’s now the real boss, don’t you think?"

The woman who spoke at the beginning let out a gasp and was unable to hide her astonishment.

Many women spent their lives trying to get a successful man. No one got it as simply as Lindsey.

At that moment, many looked at Lindsey with admiration or envy, while they looked at Zayn regretfully as they wished they could meet him before they were married.

Allie hid the jealousy under her eyes. Liam, who was beside her, also heard this conversation. A playful smile appeared on his face as he said, "Zayn Guggenheim’s really willing, huh?"

She did not respond to Liam and lifted her dress as she walked towards Lindsey.

Not far away, Zayn saw Allie walking towards Lindsey and his eyes instantly turned hostile.

Lindsey was pregnant, so she was exuding a pinkish glow. She wore a pastel yellow knee-length dress with barely any makeup, but her skin was soft and smooth like a peeled egg. Her simplistic beauty overshadowed those bold looks in the crowd.

Seeing that Lindsey was staring at the dessert table longingly, Allie purposely picked a few cakes and pastries that Lindsey used to love and brought them over to her.

"Why are you sitting here alone?"

Lindsey was visibly happy to see Allie, but she suddenly thought of something and the delight in her eyes faded. However, she still kept the smile on her face and said, "I don’t know anyone. Why did you come so late?"

Hearing her complaint, Allie’s smile grew wider. "Well, I’m here now, aren’t I? I wanted to visit you, but Zayn Guggenheim watched you like a hawk. Here, they're all your favorites. Have some."

"Umm...not much." Allie looked distressed. "My brother didn't tell me. I just overheard it."

Allie took Lindsey's hand and said, "I didn't expect that you, you actually...sigh...there’s not much time left, and my brother’s adamant. If you don't go back to Germany, I don’t know what my brother will do, then they’ll be in danger."

Lindsey was silent for a while. How could she not know the consequences? However, this was a dead end. She was now sure that she wanted to have this child, but she could not just watch as Liam went crazy and tortured those two.

Allie saw that Lindsey was lost in thought and there was viciousness in her eyes as she said, "Lindsey, I thought of a way..."

"Allie, Lindsey, what are you ladies talking about?" Liam's voice suddenly sounded.

Allie froze and quickly gave Lindsey a look before sitting up straight, "Brother, Lindsey and I were just chatting casually."

Liam's eyes fell on the two ladies' overlapping hands. He smiled and asked, "I heard that someone wanted to hurt you. Is everything okay?"

"Yes." Lindsey answered frankly, "I don't know who has such a big grudge against me. Do you know?"

Liam snickered. "How would I know?"

"It's best if you don't know." Liam's words were suddenly interrupted by another deep, charming voice.

Zayn sat next to Lindsey and reached out to wrap his arm around Lindsey's slightly chubby waist. His dark eyes sank as he said, "My wife’s not in the best of health. Mr. Wilford, you might as well talk to me if you have anything to say."
