Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 221

Although there were many objections, this was Zayn's decision and the old man's will, so no one could say otherwise.

Lindsey was suddenly given so much equity that she was still a bit overwhelmed when she returned to the Guggenheim mansion.

"Zayn, are you crazy?" Lindsey's eyes were wide open as she stared at the man beside her who was tasting the dishes on the table.

Zayn tasted the egg custard Mrs. Wendy made and felt it suitable for Lindsey, so he scooped a spoonful and brought it to her lips.

The chef in the Guggenheim mansion had gone to great lengths to make sure Lindsey would eat a little more.

Probably because Lindsey was used to being taken care of by Zayn during this time, she subconsciously opened her mouth and swallowed the egg custard.

"How is it?" Zayn asked as he watched her eat, while he tasted other dishes.

"Pretty good." Lindsey nodded her head. She then slapped Zayn's shoulder and said, "I was asking you a question!"

Zayn nonchalantly took her hand in his and squeezed it. He used his free hand to feed her another spoonful. His voice was flat as if it was not a big deal. “It’s what I promised you.”

Lindsey froze. The man's desperate and sad face suddenly crashed into her mind.

After a long time, she only said, "Even if you give it to me, I won’t manage it. You still have to do it yourself, and..." Lindsey patted her belly and continued, "It’ll take a long time for him to grow up."

Zayn squinted at her belly and complained, “Why is he growing so slowly?”

Lindsey laughed and glared at him. "He's not even three months old yet!" It would take at least half a year for him to grow to the size of her palm.

Zayn suddenly frowned in annoyance.

Lindsey looked at him discontentedly. "Are you disappointed with him?"

Zayn looked up at Lindsey and lied, “No...”

He still had some work to handle, so Lindsey finished her meal by herself. Before Zayn left to go to the study, he suddenly leaned into Lindsey's ear and said teasingly, "I'm willing to work for my wife."

Lindsey was so stunned she forgot to chew. She stared at the man’s departing back and felt that he had changed a great deal.

However, Lindsey still smiled giddily at the words, “my wife”.

The death of the old man shrouded the Guggenheim mansion with a layer of gloom, but this sadness gradually dissipated as Lindsey's morning sickness became lighter by the day.

After all, as the old man said, he had someone waiting for him on the other side.

Lindsey’s appetite gradually grew and her body became chubbier, but the wound on her hand still had not recovered.

She had been staying at the mansion for nearly a month and was dying of boredom, but because of her injury, Zayn was a little skittish. Fearing that Zayn would be worried, Lindsey did not ask to leave the house.

That day after dinner, Lindsey was walking by the lake with Zayn. The man beside her suddenly said, "The Wendells are throwing a small party for Yvette. Do you want to go?"

Zayn just mentioned it casually. Quentin had reminded him that Lindsey might be interested in going, so he asked her. When Lindsey heard this, her eyes suddenly lit up. "Can I go?"

In fact, every time Lindsey woke up, he would also wake up right after. He felt heartbroken whenever he saw her trying to suppress her panic and fear.

Lindsey was definitely hiding something from him. It was also a huge thing that haunted her and kept her awake at night, yet she did not want to tell him.

This knowledge made Zayn frustrated and angry.

He was sure that Liam Wilford had made a move against Lindsey, but he had no proof. As for why Liam did so and what happened to Lindsey during the six months she was away, Zayn only knew of a small part of it.

Zayn was patient, but he always felt an uneasiness.

Lindsey nodded in Zayn's arms. "I know. You've been working so hard during the day, so I just want you to get a good night's sleep."

As she said that, she felt a tingling feeling in her nose. Ever since her morning sickness subsided, other pregnancy symptoms exploded in her.

For example, she always cried and was easily irritable and moody.

She especially loved to cry.

Zayn’s heart melted as he held the petite woman in his arms tightly. He let out a long sigh. "I can't possibly get a good night’s sleep if you can't sleep well."

Lindsey opened her mouth wanting to say something, but her words seemed to be stuck in her throat. In the end, she did not say anything.

She did not know how to say it and she was not sure if she could.
