Forced Into Marriage: My Husband’s Too Mean novel Chapter 142

Lindsey was crying soundlessly and her face was covered in tears.

Zayn felt an aching pain in his heart. He felt helpless and pulled Lindsey into his arms, but she fiercely pushed him away.

The man took a step back and stabilized himself. The smile on his face had long since disappeared, leaving only vulnerability.

"I'm sorry." Zayn took another step forward.

Lindsey, however, took a step back.

She had resistance written all over her, but her silent tears were like daggers falling on Zayn, piercing a thousand holes in him.

He was about to say something when Lindsey suddenly spoke up, "Zayn Guggenheim, are you done messing with me?"

Her voice was hoarse as she choked out these words from deep within her throat.

It was as if a switch was flipped. All of Lindsey’s tears with the sobbing and choking sounds came crashing down on Zayn.

Lindsey cried quietly. The sound she made was like leaves rustling in the wind.

She looked like a complete mess. Zayn reached out several times to touch her, but she avoided him.

Zayn finally said, "I'm not messing with you. I'm just happy."

His voice contained too many emotions, which sounded surprisingly harmonious with Lindsey's choking sounds.

"I was so happy when you jumped over and hugged me despite everything."

‘That's why I laughed so contentedly.’

‘If love and expectations belonged in the same place, then the moment you ran to me, I finally found where they belonged.’

Zayn continued, "You know what I want. You know my feelings, and you know that you believed what I said. You just want to give yourself a reason to hate me. I accept it all."

‘No matter what, as long as it’s from you, I’ll accept it.’

"Zayn Guggenheim, what makes you so self-righteous?" Lindsey suddenly interrupted his words, "Who gave you the right?"

She did not even wipe the tears off her face and suddenly squatted on the ground as she wrapped her arms around her knees.

"What right do you have?" Lindsey no longer suppressed her emotions. Her sobs gradually became louder as she cried like an abandoned child.

Zayn squatted down and tenderly stroked her hair. "I never had anyone I could rely on."

Unfortunately, his voice was drowned out by Lindsey's cries and the person immersed in deep sorrow did not hear his words.

A teardrop fell from Zayn’s face and hit the ground by Lindsey's feet.

Lindsey was clearly within reach, but Zayn did not go any closer.

She was crying until she felt breathless, and Zayn just watched her unblinkingly.

This happened too unexpectedly. Lindsey suddenly collapsed as if all her strength was drained from her body.

Her face was still covered in tears. At the moment, she was totally unconscious.

Zayn's reflexes were fast and he caught Lindsey in his arms as soon as she fell.

"What’s going on here? Is someone filming a romance movie?" At this time, a man's sinister voice suddenly sounded.

Zayn carefully held Lindsey tightly before looking in the direction of the voice.

He had never seen this man before, but he could recognize him at a glance. "Liam Wilford."
