Escaping the Psycho's Grasp novel Chapter 14

Over the next week, I repaid their kindness by paying a whopping $1 in rent.

I also provided the kid with a comprehensive education.

He couldn't do Advanced Calculus? Fine. Applied Physics? Astronomy? Organic Chemistry? He had to be good at something, right?

Otherwise, how would he survive in this world?

Turns out, he was good at nothing.

But I'm a reasonable person. If he couldn't handle academics, we'd try art.

I had him use his mom's makeup for finger painting and draw on his dad's car with wire.

After days of practice, he finally managed to draw a somewhat decent circle.

His parents were so grateful they tried to give me money and find me a new place to live. They practically begged me to leave.

But I righteously refused. "A gentleman's word is his bond. I promised to stay for two weeks, and I will."

Then, I put them through a rigorous physical training regimen.

Like waking them up at 2 AM with a bucket of cold water, then forcing them to run a 10K in under twenty minutes, followed by thirty minutes of push-ups.

If they slacked off, I'd burn their butts with cigarettes.

To save them money, I forbade them from driving or taking the bus to work. They had to run alongside the bus.

That saved them a whopping $2 per trip.

Then I realized they could save $25 per trip if they chased after taxis. So, I made them chase after taxis.

I'm a genius, I know.

I'm pretty sure the Nobel Prize in Economics committee is overlooking my contributions.

Within three days, they'd each lost ten pounds.

It was a weight-loss miracle.

Besides the trembling, foaming at the mouth, and occasional loss of consciousness, there were no side effects.

"See? I'm good for you. Following me is way more effective than those weight-loss pills you buy," I told the mom.

She stammered for a while before I finally understood what she was trying to say.

"Yeah, we're thinner, but we're also dying."

Finally, the two weeks were up.

It was like Christmas morning for them.
