Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 337

Adrian ignored Harrison entirely, as if he'd expected him to show up all along.

Instead, his gaze slipped past Harrison’s shoulder, settling on Selene.

And in that instant, Adrian’s eyes froze.

Selene practically flew toward him, worry etched into every line of her face.

She reached his side and grabbed his wrist, her touch grounding him. Adrian lowered his eyes, staring in quiet surprise at Selene’s hand curled firmly around his own, his long lashes fluttering as if unsure how to react.

Turning to him, Selene said softly, “I know why you’re here at the hospital, Adrian.”

He met her eyes, a storm of emotion flickering in his dark gaze. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Selene squared her shoulders, pushing him gently behind her, her stance fierce and protective, like a lioness shielding her cub.

“Harrison, whatever's going on between us is none of your business!”

Both men’s faces shifted at her words.

Adrian’s lips twitched with a hint of a smile, while Harrison’s expression darkened to the point of thunder.

He’d told himself he could handle this, that he was above it all. But the moment Selene and Adrian became a “we,” and he—her ex-husband—was reduced to an outsider, Harrison found it hard to even breathe.

His arms hung uselessly at his sides, his fingers trembling ever so slightly, as if he was struggling to keep his emotions in check.

Selene, who used to love him so much, who once kept meticulous notes on his every preference and routine—would she treat Adrian with the same care and devotion she once showed him?

Harrison realized, in that moment, he couldn’t accept any of this.

He felt like a wild animal trapped in a cage, desperate to reach the woman in front of him, yet blocked by an invisible, impenetrable wall.

Shoving his pain aside, he let it sharpen his words into weapons. “I was your last man, Selene. I don’t believe for a second you’d actually want someone… impotent.”

His laugh was cold, his eyes glinting with unhinged fury.

He turned to Harrison, eyes steely. “Hiring a hacker to break into the hospital and steal my medical records, then broadcasting them at Thompson Victory Technologies? Harrison, you’re starting to look a lot like a rat in the gutter.”

Harrison just laughed, defiant and reckless. “I don’t care what it costs me—I’ll make sure everyone knows you’re incapable of being with a woman.”

It was the only way, he thought, to keep Selene and Adrian apart.

He was determined.

“That’s enough!” Selene snapped, her voice sharper than Harrison had ever heard—a lioness in full defense of her mate.

For a moment, Harrison was stunned. He’d never seen her like this before.

Adrian placed a hand on Selene’s arm, his grin bold and unrestrained. “Then I’ll just tell everyone the truth—there’s nothing wrong with me. I just had a minor procedure last week, and I’ve been taking it easy while I recover.”

Harrison was poised to scoff, but as Adrian’s words sank in, the laughter died on his lips.
