Tiffany finally sat down next to Laney, though her eyes kept drifting uncontrollably toward Emmy and James. Her mind was filled with a massive wave of confusion right now. She had definitely met this terrifying Mr. Nelson, who was sitting beside her idol, before! In her memory, this man was clearly an incredibly formidable special forces soldier. He was even that blockhead Brett's direct superior! How did he suddenly transform into the chairman of some internationally renowned tech company after just a short time apart?
However, Tiffany quickly reasoned it out in her head. Obviously, this man was no ordinary person, which made him quite a perfect match for her idol after all.
For the next while, Laney held her tablet and rapidly finalized the gala schedule with Emmy. Only when they encountered specific details did she turn to ask for Tiffany's input. Tiffany would only speak up to offer a few words then. Compared to Laney's natural ease and straightforwardness, Tiffany was clearly much more nervous in front of their idol.
Over half an hour later, all the logistics were finally set in stone. Laney let out a long sigh of relief and eagerly pulled out her phone.
"Idol, should we exchange contact info? In the future, if you have any sudden schedule changes or plans, you can just notify us big fans directly on the messaging app. That way, we can prepare all the support and security arrangements in advance, instead of scrambling every time we wait for official announcements to drop!"
Emmy also pulled out her phone. "Sure."
Seeing this, Tiffany quickly pulled out her own phone as well.
Emmy tapped open her QR code on the screen. As Laney scanned the code, she couldn't help but start complaining.
"Idol, you have no idea. Lately, so many scammers have been trying to add us using your name. One time, someone added us, chatted for a bit, and then started playing the victim to ask us for money. Tiffany, this silly girl, almost believed it and was about to transfer the money! Thank goodness I stopped her in time. I told her our idol is the boss's wife at Janus Sphere Technologies, so she definitely doesn't lack money! Only then did we stop that scammer from succeeding."
At this point, Laney scoffed coldly. "That's not even the most ridiculous part. Just yesterday afternoon, another scammer tried to add us on the messaging app. That person was hilarious, opening the friend request by outright claiming to be Emmy. I nearly died laughing, they really took us for fools..."
Before Laney could fully finish her sentence, her phone screen pinged to indicate a successful scan. The page jumped to the contact profile. Staring at the familiar profile picture on the screen, Laney's voice abruptly cut off. She froze.
"Huh? This profile picture... why does it look so familiar?"
Fortunately, right after adding the contact, Tiffany's phone buzzed. She quickly answered the call. After listening for a few moments, she hung up and looked at Emmy apologetically. "Idol, some fans from out of town got lost at the hotel entrance. I have to go out and pick them up."
Laney, who was just worrying about not having a chance to be alone with her idol, immediately waved her hand grandly. "Go, go! I'll stay here and chat with our idol a bit longer."
Tiffany shot her a speechless look. She said it as if there was anyone who didn't want to stay and chat with their idol. However, she was genuinely worried about the fans outside, so she turned and walked toward the door.
When she reached the doorway of the lounge, her footsteps suddenly halted. As if thinking of something, she stood in place, hesitating for quite a while. It wasn't until she had dug a red crescent into her palm that she mustered the courage to turn her head back around.
Tiffany's gaze bypassed Emmy and landed on the man who had barely spoken but commanded an overwhelming presence. "Mr. Nelson, could I possibly... borrow a helper from you?"
