Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 11

Everyone saw how chill Emmy was about the whole thing and immediately started talking over each other—offering comfort, pitching names of this or that so-called perfect guy.

Emmy smiled politely at every suggestion, but on the inside, she was already over it.

These relatives from her dad’s side were always leeching off her family’s success, always secretly wishing they’d fall just a little. Now that her engagement was off, they acted all sympathetic, but who knew how hard they were laughing behind her back?

Honestly, where else in the entire city could you find another guy like Dean—born into privilege, brilliant, with a future everyone envied?

It had been the same in her last life, too.

When she was struggling to get pregnant, it was these exact people who, pretending to care, turned her private struggles into gossip for the whole city. They twisted every detail, and in the end, even got her humiliation trending online. She became a punchline, the city’s favorite joke.

Sometimes she thought their hypocrisy could make her physically sick.

It took forever to finally get rid of all those “well-meaning” relatives. The minute the door closed behind them, the apartment went quiet, and Emmy’s smile vanished. Her eyes went ice-cold.

She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

“Mr. Polland, I need to handle the inheritance and notarization for my grandfather’s will. You know, the part about the company shares,” she said, voice steady. “Can we get started on that as soon as possible?”

“Of course, Ms. Lincoln. Your grandfather’s will says that if you’re married, you’ll receive forty percent of the company’s shares. May I ask—”

Emmy gripped her phone a little tighter, but her voice didn’t waver. “Yes, Mr. Polland. I am married.”

After she hung up, Emmy walked back to her bedroom.

In the corner stood a safe, almost as tall as she was. The code was the anniversary of when she and Dean started dating.

Her fingers hovered over the keypad for a second, but then she punched in the numbers anyway.

The safe beeped and the door swung open.

Inside, rows of jewelry sparkled under the light.

Every piece was ridiculously expensive. Every piece had been a gift from Dean.
