Drunk and Daring I Kissed a Tycoon novel Chapter 440

The place Dominic had in mind was at the eastern side of the forest. It was a long walk. Since the group was in no rush, they walked along like they were on a lazy outing. It took them more than half an hour to get there.

A path of white pebbles led the way to a cylindrical building. With its gray-brown walls and red roof, it looked like something straight out of a fairy tale. It was like a giant mushroom sprouting from the forest floor. The entire building only had one window and one door.

They followed the path up to the door. Just before stepping inside, Dominic glanced at his watch. Then, the group entered.

With a loud bang, the door slammed shut behind them. It was as though an unseen hand had pushed it.

Vespera jumped and instinctively grabbed Dominic's arm. Vance seized the opportunity to play the scaredy-cat and clung to Dominic's other arm.

However, the one who really went all out was Gerard, who threw his arms around Dominic's waist.

Dominic, who had three people clinging onto him, was rendered speechless. Vespera turned and caught sight of Gerard. She stared at him in disbelief. When did he get so bold?

Vance wanted to burst into tears. He thought, "I should have been walking behind."

Gerard, already pale with fear, mentally screamed, "I didn't mean to hug him! I was seriously frightened!"

Dominic shook Vance off, then turned to glare at Gerard. The look on his face could freeze anything.

Upon seeing that, Gerard felt his heart thunder in his chest. "Mr. Reid, the door…"

"Wow, what would I do without you? I didn't notice it myself. I must be deaf and blind. How lucky I am to have you around," said Dominic sarcastically.

Dominic raised a hand like he was going to hit Gerard, but Vespera quickly stopped him. She said, "I'm sure Gerard didn't do it on purpose! He just hugged you. You could always hug him back!"

Dominic's eye twitched. On the other hand, Gerard thought that he would rather get hit. To the side, Vance snorted.

Vespera raised her eyebrow at Vance and said, "What are you snorting at? You're so dramatic."

Vance snapped back, "What did you just say?"

Unbeknownst to her, someone was following her silently.

Vespera glanced toward the side without turning her head. Still humming, she finally stopped at the fourth door on the right. When she stepped inside, the person followed. In the latter's hand was a thin wire.

Just as a scream was about to pierce the silence, the lights went out. Everything went black. Not just the building, but the entire forest beyond it. Even the distant castle lights were turned off.

And as if on cue, the moon disappeared behind thick clouds. The world plunged into pitch darkness. It was so dark that one couldn't see their hands.

In the castle, Belinda's eyes snapped open. She had been sitting with her eyes closed, listening to classical music.

The butler outside knocked on the door. Belinda got up and walked to the window. With a cold expression, she stared at the dark forest outside, eyes narrowed.
