Dominic was at a loss for words.

People inside the venue poked their heads out, trying to see what all the fuss was about. From their angle, it looked like Vespera had just slapped Dominic across the face. Someone even dropped their wine glass.

But to everyone's shock, Dominic didn't seem angry at all. In fact, his head tilted slightly down, and he leaned in a little. He kissed Vespera's hand! He just got slapped, and now he was kissing her hand?

"If you're feeding me, could you do it a bit more gently?" Dominic murmured, his voice low.

The words drifted through the air like a dream. Vespera blinked her eyes and promptly slapped her hand back over Dominic's mouth. She said, "Eat properly. If you get too skinny, you won't be good-looking anymore."

Dominic chuckled. Clearly, Vespera had gotten so drunk that logic could no longer be applied. To play along, he moved his lips beneath her hand and said, "Alright. I ate it."

It was only then that Vespera looked pleased. Her hand dropped onto Dominic's shoulder, fingers wandering upward to gently tousle the hair at the nape of his neck. She mumbled, "Good boy."

Dominic wondered what Vespera was treating him as. Feeling helpless, he had no idea how her mind worked when she was drunk.

After Vespera fed Dominic the imaginary ham, she finally settled down, going limp in his arms. He then carried her back inside.

The moment they stepped into the party, they became the center of attention. Dominic couldn't leave with Vespera draped over him without saying something.

So, while he offered a few courteous words, she had completely checked out. Her eyes narrowed, and she hummed off-key. One second, she was tugging at his tie. The next, she was poking at his Adam's apple.

It was the kind of embarrassment that made a sober person want to vanish.

Gerard buried his face in his hands. He couldn't bear to watch the scene. Nevertheless, Dominic didn't stop Vespera. He let her do whatever she wanted, so the others pretended none of it was happening. Still, even with collective denial, people couldn't help but think.

No matter how considerate a president might be toward his subordinates, wasn't this a bit too much? Vespera was this close to pulling Dominic's hair!
