Drunk and Daring I Kissed a Tycoon novel Chapter 409

The smile on Vespera's face dropped. Everything she had been bottling up these past few days exploded with just a few words from Dominic. It felt like a ball of negative energy had been hurled straight into her chest. It tore through her bloodstream and surged to her head.

She snapped, "You told me to have fun, so I wished the same for you. What's wrong with that? Do I even get a say in who you want to be with and what you want to do? Dominic, haven't I tried hard to cooperate? Haven't I been understanding and polite?"

And now, Dominic was the one playing victim? What right did he have to feel wronged?

Dominic looked at how angry Vespera was, and a sharp pain twisted in his chest.

He said nothing at first and just stood there in silence. Finally, he let out a soft sigh and said, "It's my fault that I've upset you. I haven't been able to make you happy at all during this trip. I'm sorry that I failed to make you feel secure. I didn't do enough."

Vespera's breath hitched. The anger she had been holding onto suddenly felt misplaced.

Weren't they arguing? Vespera tried to gauge Dominic's gaze, but he avoided her gaze, letting his bangs fall and casting a shadow over his face.

Dominic took out his phone and pulled up his call log. He turned the screen toward Vespera and said, "Evelyn is already engaged. She and her fiancé are good friends of mine. I'm not sure how things got so misinterpreted.

"Maybe I've let my negative emotions cloud your judgment. But whatever the case, don't torture yourself with it anymore. Just be happy, alright? The Vespera I know never lets anything tie her down."

Vespera pursed her lips. She lowered her head and looked down at her handbag. She said in a soft voice, "Thank you for explaining. I understand now."

Dominic watched the way her long lashes trembled. He took a step closer and asked, "Are you still not happy? Is it because you feel like you never get a say in anything between us? I'll let you make the decision then. Whether you want to be my girlfriend or not, I'll leave that entirely up to you."

Vespera's breath caught in her throat, and her eyes burned, tears threatening to spill over. When she looked up again, Dominic had already turned and headed back to his room.

Vespera stood frozen in the corridor, staring at the closed door. Her thoughts were spinning into a void. She could make the decision? Since when did Dominic give people choices?

Gerard looked at Vespera, even more confused now. Just a few nights ago, hadn't she said all those ruthless things? Dominic had been standing right outside the door when it happened.

Gerard still didn't know exactly when Dominic had arrived, but anyone who heard what Vespera said that night would have been devastated.

Even though Gerard hadn't dared to look back then, the weight of those words had lingered in the air. It might sound dramatic to say that Dominic looked crushed, but honestly, he kind of did.

And for the past two days, Dominic had acted like nothing happened. Whenever Gerard cleaned Dominic's room, there would be bottles of liquor.

Dominic wasn't a smoker or an alcoholic. He had great self-control. No matter how stressed he got, drinking was never his coping method. So, if he was drinking now, he must be truly heartbroken.

Vespera and Gerard finally reached downstairs. Out in the courtyard, Calvert was sitting with his legs crossed, munching on a slice of pizza. He waved as the two approached and asked, "Is it time to go?"
