Dominic's eyes settled on Vespera. His gaze was calm and unreadable. No one could tell what he was thinking.
"I slept well," answered Vespera lightly. She took the chance to avert her gaze naturally by grabbing tissues from the coffee table.
She pulled a few out, then walked over and offered them to Dominic. She said, "You're soaked. You should wipe away the water."
"Thank you," responded Dominic, taking the tissues and casually patting himself. Then, he walked over to the couch and sat down.
Vespera went into the kitchen and returned with a pot of Earl Grey tea. She said, "Mr. Reid, have some tea to warm yourself up."
Vespera poured a cup and set it beside Dominic attentively.
At this time, Dominic was holding a tablet, scrolling through something. He glanced at the tea, then took a sip. He said, "Ms. Gildon, you don't have to go out of your way. It's just a little rain. I won't catch a cold."
"Alright then," replied Vespera. She didn't say anything else. Anyway, she had done what she had to do.
She poured a second cup for herself and another for Calvert. She drank the tea sip by sip, while he downed his tea in a single gulp. He opened his mouth to say something, but then stopped short, an idea lighting up his face.
Calvert said, "Vespera, you should tell Mr. Reid."
Vespera asked, "Tell him what?"
"That Nancy showed up again! You chased her off, didn't you?" Calvert asked.
Vespera felt helpless. Putting her cup down, she looked toward Dominic and said, "Ms. Acosta has indeed come by this morning. You were all asleep. I came downstairs to make something to eat, and she happened to show up at the door."
Dominic didn't react right away. A while later, he closed the tablet and looked at Vespera. He said calmly, "Gerard already told me."
"That's great, then," replied Vespera.
After hearing their conversation, Calvert was confused. Was that it? Weren't they going to do something about Nancy?
Calvert quickly said, "Mr. Reid, Nancy can't be trusted! You should chase her away! She's going to pull the same stunt she did a few days ago and take over your place again. She won't stop bothering you, and it's clearly making Vespera unhappy!"
In response, Dominic said, "Maybe you should tie her up and scare her a little. You can lock her in some farmhouse in the countryside for a year, and let her out when she has calmed down."
Calvert and Vespera were stunned. A year? That sounded kind of extreme.
Calvert thought about the feasibility and responded, "A year is too long. Maybe we just lock her up until we leave this place? I can go and grab some rope now!"
He got up and dashed off, but then he froze.
Nancy was standing in the doorway, staring at Calvert. Calvert was shocked as he asked, "Why are you here? I was just about to go and find you. Saves me the trip."
Nancy questioned, "Are you plotting to kidnap me?"
When Nancy was on the way here, she was in a good mood. However, when she arrived, the door wasn't closed. So, she walked in only to overhear their conversation.
Vespera scratched her head. What a coincidence…
Why did Nancy happen to arrive now? Locking her up for a year was too extreme. It was against the law. Nevertheless, Calvert wouldn't actually do such a thing.
"What are you doing here? You're such a stalker!" Calvert shouted directly.
