The Sigma Network’s men blinked, their eyes widening in disbelief at the young “man” who had suddenly appeared.
“What the hell?”
“Didn't the boss want to see Specter?”
“Isn't Specter supposed to be a gray-haired old man over fifty?”
“How could it be this kid, who doesn't look a day over twenty?”
“Who are you calling that!” one of the men demanded, raising his gun. “Our boss wants to see Specter in person!”
“I am Specter,” Juniper replied in a low, patient voice, her hands stuffed in her pockets.
“You’re Specter? Then I’m Specter’s father!” the man retorted, jutting his chin out, oblivious to the danger he was in.
At his words, Juniper slowly lifted her gaze, her long lashes shadowing eyes that had turned bloodred. The next second, she pulled her hands from her pockets. With a few swift movements, she disarmed the two grunts in front of her, dismantling their guns completely. Parts clattered onto the deck with a harsh, metallic sound.
“Thump! Thump!”
With two solid kicks, Juniper sent both men flying into the sea.
“Aaaah, help—!”
As the two flailed in the water, screaming for help, the other men on board finally snapped out of their shock.
“He’s so fast.”
“I’ll say this one last time. Take me to the leader of the Sigma Network,” Juniper said, her eyes sweeping over the remaining men.
“Yes, sir.”
Not daring to delay any longer, they immediately called Felton.
“Specter is here,” the man said, still eyeing Juniper nervously. “But… he’s a young man…”
