Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1707

"I don't like milk. It smells weird." Ebony Fox frowned, trying to snatch the wine back.

"It's jujube-flavored. No weird smell." Kurt coaxed patiently, "Just take a sip. If you don't like it, I'll jump off the balcony right now."

"Are you crazy?"

Ebony Fox stared at him silently for a long time before her words tumbled out.

With him saying that, how could she dare say it tasted bad?

A few seconds later.

She finally took the milk and took a small sip. The rich jujube flavor spread across her palate.

It really didn't have that weird milky smell.

She looked up, glancing at Kurt, and asked, "How did you make this?"

"Trade secret."

Kurt smiled triumphantly. He definitely wasn't going to admit he snagged the recipe from his older brother.

"Tsk."

She glared at him, then checked the time. "I'm going to the study to handle some work."

"I'll cook." Kurt was very proactive. "I'll call you when it's ready."

"Mhm."

Not knowing what else to say, she awkwardly scratched her head.

When she returned to the living room later.

Three dishes and a soup were already on the table, and the TV was on, playing a show.

The whole space felt exceptionally lively.

After dinner.

Ebony Fox sat on the sofa, holding her phone and replying to messages from Polly.

Kurt sat beside her, shelling nuts for her.

The TV was playing in the background.

Ebony Fox glanced over; it seemed to be some generic, cheesy teen romance drama.

It was pretty mindless, but fortunately, the male and female leads were quite good-looking.

Watchable.

But as she kept watching, she suddenly felt something was off.

Weren't they just supposed to be cuddling and talking?
