"Clatter—"
The silverware in his hand dropped to the floor. Kurt looked at Ebony Fox in sheer disbelief.
What?
Did he actually hear Ebony Fox say she wanted to give it a try with him?
Was he hallucinating?
"What did you say?" Kurt stared at her, dumbfounded, his face filled with shock. "You said you want to give it a try... meaning, date?"
"Yeah."
Ebony Fox nodded, sitting up straight and glancing at him lazily. "If you're going to keep sticking to me like a piece of chewed gum from now on, let's just try."
"If we're not happy, if it doesn't work out, we go our separate ways."
Hearing her words, Kurt stood frozen in place, taking a long time to react.
Ebony Fox frowned, about to ask for his opinion.
Suddenly, Kurt stood up, raised his right hand, and slapped himself hard across the face.
"Smack—"
The sound of the slap was exceptionally loud, echoing in the quiet room.
Ebony Fox's brow furrowed deeper, question marks slowly floating up in her mind.
"Smack—"
Another slap followed immediately, and it was visibly obvious that Kurt's right cheek was turning red.
Five distinct finger marks appeared.
Ebony Fox: "?"
Had his severe fever over the past two days fried his brain?!
"It hurts, it's real." Kurt finally processed the reality, slowly shuffling over to Ebony Fox. He crouched in front of her, looking up and asking, "You agreed to be my girlfriend, right?"
"That's what you meant, tell me!"
Ebony Fox frowned, feeling she had already made herself very clear.
"Yes."
She nodded, her face expressionless. "I originally agreed, but seeing you like this, I want to reconsider."
So stupid.
She didn't want such a foolish partner on her record.
"Not allowed."
Kurt grabbed her hand, so excited that his entire body was trembling. "You finally agreed to be my girlfriend, ahhh—"
