The next day.
Having rested, Jimmie planned to grab a final meal before leaving Stellara Country for his next shooting location.
Clark mentioned a highly-rated Western restaurant located on Newman Avenue in the capital.
Their steak was supposed to be phenomenal, and their desserts were highly praised.
Jimmie was tempted. If the food was genuinely good, he could bring Juniper—that little food enthusiast—here to try it next time.
—
Before long, they arrived at the restaurant.
The interior was styled with high-end gothic architecture, situated on one of the most expensive blocks in the capital.
The atmosphere was pristine, the plating exquisite—exactly Jimmie's preferred aesthetic.
Meanwhile, at a table not far away sat a young woman in her early twenties. Despite her youthful features, her makeup was slightly overdone, and she was dripping in head-to-toe designer brands.
Resting her chin on her hand, she stared at Jimmie with extreme interest, eyeing him like a predator admiring fresh prey. "I didn't know Stellara Country had men of this caliber."
"I don't think he's from around here," her friend said, pulling up Jimmie's profile on her phone and showing it to Esme. "He's an A-list actor from Orient Country in Borealia. Household name. Massive reputation."
"Orient Country?"
Esme's eyes narrowed, a thick smile spreading across her face. "In the industry for years, keeps his hands clean, zero scandals."
"A man like that actually exists?" Esme didn't buy it. Grabbing her phone, she stood up in her stilettos, swaying her hips as she walked confidently over to Jimmie's table.
"Hello, Mr. Tate."
Hearing his name, Jimmie slowly looked up. Taking in the woman's appearance, his brow furrowed slightly. "Do you want an autograph?"
"Pfft—"
Esme laughed aloud, her interest deepening. "You don't know who I am?"
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Esme Langley."
*Esme Langley?*
Jimmie paused for a moment. The only person he knew with the surname Langley was Luella.
"Can I help you?" Jimmie asked again.
Clark frantically shot Jimmie a warning look. They were on her home turf, and she was practically royalty.
Couldn't he just play along to save face?
"It's the truth."
Jimmie refused to indulge her, his tone remaining distant and frigid. "I don't give my number to strangers. Thank you."
His appetite entirely ruined, Jimmie set down his silverware and stood up to leave.
Staring at her ignored phone, Esme glanced awkwardly over her shoulder and saw her friends watching her intently.
"Wait! You're not leaving!"
Esme's eyes darkened as she reached out to grab Jimmie's arm.
How dare he act so arrogantly in her father's territory? She was getting his number today, whether he liked it or not.
But just as she lunged forward, before her fingers could even graze his jacket, her wrist was seized by another hand.
"Who do you think you are?"
