Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1261

After Luella boarded the plane, the flight crew hadn't even started their routine yet. There was no way she could have known what was going on behind the scenes, which meant she genuinely just had a natural knack for reading the room.

"Why are you going back to Stellara Country?" Jimmie asked, steering the conversation as his curiosity peaked.

"Going home."

Luella didn't bother hiding it. She took a sip of her juice, clearly in a bad mood.

"Your home is in Stellara?"

Stellara Country was so far from Eclara City. How did she and Juniper even meet?

"Yep."

"Hmm."

Jimmie wanted to ask more, but Luella suddenly interrupted him. "Stellara hasn't been very peaceful lately. Which hotel are you staying at?"

"This one."

Jimmie showed her the address on his phone. "Clark arranged it," he added in a low voice. It was their first time visiting Stellara, so they weren't familiar with the area.

"That hotel isn't very safe. Let me book you a new one."

As she spoke, Luella pulled out her phone and connected to the private jet's Wi-Fi. In a matter of seconds, the problem was solved.

"After we land, I'll drop you guys off," she continued. "This new hotel has much better security."

"Thank you."

Jimmie stared at her deeply, his throat suddenly dry. He had fully expected this guy to take the opportunity for revenge, waiting to see him make a fool of himself in a foreign country.

"Don't mention it."

Luella patted the sofa, raising an eyebrow with a light chuckle. "I'm hitching a ride on your private jet, aren't I?"

She laughed again. And she looked so effortlessly happy doing it.

Jimmie's fingertips curled into his palms. His throat tickled as that particular memory flashed through his mind again. His eyes involuntarily dropped to her lips. She wasn't wearing any lip balm, but she had such a healthy complexion that her lips were a natural, luminous pale pink.

They looked incredibly appealing.

He wondered what it would feel like to kiss them.

"Let's get some sleep."

Jimmie abruptly turned his back to Luella, pulled the blanket up, and covered his head completely.

Luella blinked. *What was that about?*

Flushed crimson, the attendant grabbed her serving tray and practically jogged away in flustered delight.

"Heh."

Luella pulled her gaze back, only to lock eyes with Jimmie's bottomless, dark stare.

"Don't worry." She blinked, her tone entirely earnest. "I like guys. I wouldn't mess around with her."

"Cough, cough, cough—!"

Jimmie nearly choked on his food at that last sentence. "Should I be keeping my guard up around you, then?"

"Oh, no need."

Luella answered without a second thought. "You're not my type at all. You don't meet my standards."

Jimmie's gaze instantly darkened, a suffocating weight settling in his chest.

In all his years in the entertainment industry, this was the first time he had been so blatantly rejected.

He wasn't good enough for this kid? As if *he* would ever be interested in this scrawny brat anyway!

What a joke!
