Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Jimmie walked barefoot to the minibar.
It took two full glasses of ice water to suppress the inexplicable, frustrating heat simmering in his chest.
Why on earth was he dreaming about Luella? And doing *that* with him...
Jimmie gripped the glass tight, staring blankly out the window into the night. His mind unhelpfully replayed the vivid details of the dream.
Luella’s voice, the feel of his skin, the warmth of his lips.
It felt way too real.
"Heh." Dropping onto the couch, Jimmie grabbed his e-cigarette, taking a deep drag before exhaling slowly.
The pale blue vapor curled through the air, highlighting his sharp, impossibly handsome profile.
Maybe he really did need to find a girlfriend.

At the airport.
Luella hadn't brought any luggage, just a sleek, edgy messenger bag slung over her shoulder.
She was dressed in a black denim jacket and baggy, stylized pants.
With her silver-grey hair, and the red stud in her left ear.
She was chewing gum, looking effortlessly cool—drawing stares from plenty of young girls.
And quite a few guys, too.
*Pop.*
Luella blew a massive bubble and waved. "Morning, Jimmie."
Since she needed a favor, she kept her attitude in check. She didn't dare call him "buddy" this time.
Jimmie tore his eyes away from his phone to look at her beaming face.
He realized her face was incredibly small, barely the size of his palm.
And when she smiled that hard, two faint dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth.
You'd never notice them unless you were standing this close.
"Hello? Earth to Jimmie?"
Luella started sweating when he just stared at her in silence. Was this guy about to back out and leave her stranded at the airport?
"Did you have breakfast yet?" Luella unzipped her bag and pulled out a burger. "Want a bite? I made it myself."
*Made it herself?*
A spoiled rich kid who looked good but had zero practical skills actually cooked?
It wasn't poisoned, was it?
"So good," Juniper took a generous bite, her lips curving into a smile. "The line at this place is always a nightmare. Thanks for having the patience to wait."
"Ah, no—" Luella tried to slap a hand over Juniper's mouth, but she was a second too late.
*Bought it?*
Jimmie looked down at the burger in his hand, then back at Luella, a low chuckle escaping him. "Which artisanal, handmade restaurant did you get this from? The flavor really is exquisite."
Luella stared down at her shoes, playing dead.
"It's about time, sir."
Clark announced, having just finished sorting the boarding procedures. "We're ready to head out."
"Right."
Jimmie didn't press the issue. He stood up, looking at Juniper. "I'll bring you back some good food."
"Thanks, Jimmie," Juniper smiled softly. "Please keep an eye on Luella on the way."
"Don't worry."
Jimmie offered a faint smile. If his sister asked him to do something, he'd make sure it was done.
"As for you..."
Juniper turned her gaze to the slacker leaning against her bag, her tone turning dead serious. "Don't do anything impulsive. If a fight breaks out, you're going to get hurt."
