Lionel took a breath, maintaining whatever patience he had left. "I asked around about what happened today. The other students said Sheryl swung first, and Juniper was acting in reasonable self-defense."
"Reasonable?" Before her father could say a word, Sheryl erupted indignantly. "Everyone saw it! The Computer Science students were verbally attacking me, so I had to defend myself."
"But wasn't it you who ordered people to spread rumors and throw insults at her first?" Lionel asked, his smile returning, articulating every word clearly.
"Do you have any proof?" Sheryl stood up, fully leaning into her spoiled, arrogant persona.
She had already ordered someone to delete the security footage. There was zero evidence. Even if Juniper was technically in the right, she couldn't prove it. The school would just try to sweep it under the rug.
And since Sheryl was the one with the visible injury, people would naturally side with her. Juniper was going down!
"Mr. Landon, bring Juniper here. I want a face-to-face confrontation."
Lionel's face went completely cold, his polite smile completely gone. This little brat was trying to give him orders?
"Proof?" Lionel opened his drawer and slowly pulled out a USB flash drive. He said calmly, "As a matter of fact, I do."
"Fifteen minutes ago, Juniper came in and handed me a downloaded copy of the security footage from the incident."
"It not only shows you attempting to strike another student, but it also clearly shows your friends loudly booing and spreading malicious rumors about her during the race. It's all right here."
"What?"
Staring at the flash drive, Sheryl froze, shaking her head in disbelief. "That's impossible. The security footage was deleted."
The minute Juniper left the track, she had texted her dad to have the files wiped.
The guy he hired promised there wouldn't be a trace left.
"This footage is faked!" Sheryl immediately concluded.
"Whether it's faked or not, you can see for yourself." Lionel leaned back on the sofa, thoroughly exhausted by them.
Sheryl frantically snatched the flash drive, shoved it into a laptop, and clicked on the files.
There were exactly two videos. One showed her ordering her friends to spread rumors about Juniper. The other showed Hattie confronting her, and Sheryl immediately raising her hand to slap the girl.
The footage wasn't just complete; it was in pristine, high definition.
