Don't Mess with the Girl with Candy novel Chapter 1012

"Legally dismantle a mean girl?" Hattie scratched her head, quiet for a few seconds before suddenly leaning in. "Juniper, are you really entering the competition because you're jealous?"

"I am not." Juniper stopped in her tracks, puffing up her chest and arguing loudly, "I. Am. Not. Jealous!"

Hattie felt like her eardrums were going to burst. She bit her lip, too stunned to speak. The silence was deafening.

But honestly, Juniper usually had this untouchable, ice-queen vibe in their minds. Seeing her get jealous was actually kind of cute.

"Okay, okay, you're not jealous." Hattie affectionately linked arms with her. As they walked, she chattered away, giving her all sorts of advice for the competition.

As they walked, they suddenly spotted Sheryl warming up a short distance away. She hadn't signed up for the long-distance race; instead, she was running the 100-meter sprint.

Tennis players naturally had better stamina than average students. Wanting to win a medal while conserving energy for the upcoming tennis match, she had chosen the easiest option: the sprint.

"Tsk." Hattie craned her neck and muttered, "Out of all the majors in the world, why did she have to choose pre-med?"

"Hm?" Juniper looked at Hattie, curious. "You really have a problem with her, huh?"

"Of course." Hattie made no effort to hide her disgust, speaking bluntly. "I heard she only got that exchange program spot abroad because her family threw money at the school, squeezing out actual straight-A students."

"And the second she comes back, she starts causing drama. She knows Mr. Schwartz has a girlfriend, yet she still shamelessly throws herself at him. That's just morally bankrupt."

"You're the absolute favorite of the freshman Computer Science class. Let's see anyone try to mess with you."

"Thanks, guys." Juniper listened quietly to Hattie's passionate rant, her mood lightening. "But you know..."

"But what?" Hattie blinked, curious.
